I gotta say, when people question the sexuality of actors playing queer characters, it upholds patriarchy, it uplifts toxic performance of masculinity, and it hurts queer communities. Stop asking, it’s irrelevant. Stop putting down your expectations of people’s behaviour as a reflection of their sexual identity. Softness and intimacy between friends is not a ‘hallmark’ of queer identity, nor is it a rejection of heterosexual masculine identity. The more you suppose and speculate, the more you reinforce binary stereotypes that hurt us all. Just stop. #when we assume male friendship is sexual we tell men they must isolate themselves.
