Why did you create this blog: Because I couldn’t find that many Shikatema posts on Pinterest so I turned to Tumblr in desperation. Then I found a ton of cool post about Shikatema and Naruto/Boruto that I’ve never seen before (mostly @shikamarubase ‘s post). So, I decided to create my secondary blog (but I treat it as my primary blog), to follow amazing blogs. 😄

“When did they hook up?”

Kankuro heard the Yamanaka girl wonder out loud as her gaze gravitated to her left. Curious, he followed her line of sight and doubled over in shock to find his own big sister hand-in-hand with Nara Shikamaru….and blushing, no less!

“Gaara!” He blindly took hold of Gaara’s wrist and pulled him over to his side. With his other hand, he pointed an index finger at the couple. “Did you know they were like that?”

Gaara gaze slowly followed the direction of Kankuro’s finger, but his expression remained unperturbed when he saw what his brother was talking about. “I had my suspicions,” he admitted. “Sister was acting strange the last time we came to visit.”

“Strange?” Kankuro’s eyes furrowed at he tried to remember the events from their last visit. He did think it was weird for her to pass up a chance to explore another village. Also, she had gotten back late that night and he couldn’t coax her to tell him where she’d been. And to add to all of that, she was uncharacteristically happy for days afterwards, humming to herself and giggling out of nowhere. Now that he thought about it, Temari didn’t act at all like her usual snarky self during that time. But he would never have imagined it was because of a guy—and Nara Shikamaru of all people!

What bothered him even more was Gaara’s minimal reaction to the scene before them. Kankuro casted a suspicious glance in his direction.

“You weren’t aware of this, right little brother?” He tried to hide behind the pretense of playfulness, but the accusing tone still somehow leaked from his words.

Gaara glanced at him from the corner of his eye, his expression as unreadable as ever. “I’m just as shocked as you are, brother. Though, sister’s feelings for Shikamaru-san don’t come as a surprise to me.”

“Why not?” Kankuro never once suspected anything romantic between his sister and the sullen Nara, not until it was staring him right in the face!

“As much as she tries to keep her emotions in check, actions always speak louder than words. My instincts told me Shikamaru-san was more than a friend for her when she worriedly chased after him to the Land of Silence.”

Kankuro crossed his arms and nodded along to his brothers words, visibly impressed with his insight.

“But I wasn’t sure of Shikamaru-san’s feelings until today,” Gaara continued.

Kankuro casted another glance in their direction. “But I don’t know. Even though you’re telling me they have mutual feelings, it’s uncomfortable to see my own sister being intimate with another person.” He rubbed his chin, trying to think of a word to describe what he was feeling at the moment. “It feels surreal.”

Gaara reasurringly patted him in the back. “I understand how you feel, brother, but do you know what I think when I look at them?”

“What?”

A faraway look crossed his face as he spoke, “To truly love someone is to wish for that person’s happiness wholeheartedly. We are uncomfortable now because we are not used to seeing sister give affection to another but, even though that is the case, knowing she is happy and relaxed in the companionship of another fills me with joy.”

Kankuro raised his head to look at the couple again as he deeply went over Gaara’s wise words—a mischievous grin played on Shikamaru’s lips as he watched Temari’s face grew bright red. Even so, their intertwined hands remained glued together, unafraid of the scrutiny of strangers and acquaintances alike. Bliss surrounded them like a bubble. Even Kankuro had to admit his sister seemed happy with the Nara, and that was all that mattered.

But accepting it silently wouldn’t be as fun as he’d like. In that moment, a brilliant idea flashed to his mind.

“So Gaara,” Kankuro eagerly threw an arm over his shoulder. “Since we’ve established we want what’s best for our dear sister, shouldn’t we warn Nara about a few things? Just as a precaution.” The mischievous glint in his eyes did nothing to hide his true intentions nor the excitement at the thought of messing around with Shikamaru now that he had something over him.

Gaara nodded. “Let us do so after the wedding.” And apparently, for all his talk of wanting Temari to be happy, his little brother couldn’t wait to have a ‘talk’ with their sister’s new boyfriend either. A wide grin spread across Kankuro’s face as he imagined all the fun he was gonna have for the next few days.

Nara wouldn’t even know what hit him!

A few feet away, Shikamaru felt an ominous chill run down his spine.

5. Has a fic you’ve written ever inspired an idea for an original work? If so, which one? (Note: It might be best to not share information on the original work it inspired. Use your best judgment).

Let’s see… I don’t think any of the finfics that I’ve written actually inspired me to write an original work. Actually, I watch a lot of TV shows and I usually create scenarios in my head based on the scenes that happen. Then I would think, “hey that could be a good idea for a shikatema fanfic” or something like that. But those kind of ideas never really ended becoming a fanfic. Most of the stories that I’ve written are what I call, “what I think would’ve happened” scenarios.

But just to share with you, I have this idea of a fanfic based on an episode of NBC’s This Is Us, in which a pregnant Temari throws Shikamaru out of the house to go hang out with some guy friends and give her some space. Shikamaru goes to Kiba and Choji or whoever, and they tell him to just forget about Temari for a few hours and relax with them. But as much as he tries to enjoy himself, Shikamaru just didn’t like the idea of leaving Temari alone in the house when she’s being hormonal and pissed off with everything. So he goes to Ino for some help.

In This Is Us, Jack Pearson is Shikamaru, Rebecca Pearson is Temari, Kiba/Chouji is Miguel and Ino is my own idea. It’ll be a rather long fanfic if I write it ahahaha.

1. Which fic did you put the most work into and which did you put the least into? Be honest!

I put in a lot of hard work to write each and every one of my fanfics but First Kiss takes the cake. I took 4 days writing it mostly because I wanted it to be close to perfect (which I doubt it is).

And for the fanfic that I put in the least effort was A scene that took place in Gaara Hiden . LOL you see? I didn’t even bother giving it a proper title. Though in my defense, I was dead tired the day I wrote it and was typing with a half asleep brain.

7. Which fic do you believe you took the most creative liberty with and why?

Hi! That would be Jealousy . I wanted to write something that has never been explored with Shikamaru's character canonically based on the anon's ask. At first, I didn't actually think that Shikamaru was the jealous type, but why not I give it a shot? I wanted to make sure both Temari and Shikamaru stayed in character and gave it a lot of thought on how the scenes and conversations would go about. But at the same time, I didn’t want to make it too rigid so I spiced it up with some 'creativity'. Ah lol. That's just me saying I wrote things differently.

Hi Anon. First off, thank you! I'm happy to have been given the opportunity but I’m really nervous at the same time since there's gonna be a lot of people.

But never mind that... I suppose I kinda wish people would talk to me or ask me about my story Forgiveness . It's a fanfic that I wrote, intended for a Mirai and Temari fanfic but ended up becoming more of a Shikatema fanfic. I honestly am not a fan of how I wrote the scenes but I actually like the idea of the story. I have this headcanon that Temari and Mirai are quite close considering that they once had a Sensei-Student relationship and the fact that Mirai had been entrusted to Shikamaru.

I wish to see them interacting in the Anime or Manga and had hoped for them to interact in Shikamaru Shinden. That never happened so I wanted to write something. I can't say that I've got their personalities 100% accurate since I didn’t have any idea of how their conversations would be like. I tried my best and I'm not sure if I did it well enough.

I also have this other headcanon that Temari would sometimes look after Mirai when she was a toddler like how Shino and Kiba did. Kinda makes me want to write a story about that now 😅

So in short, I just wish people would ask me about their relationship ahahaha. That's it really. Anyways thank you for the ask 😊

I seriously need to point this out; Shikadai’s shadow jutsu is crazy, legit awesome. He literally jumped in mid air and whoosh —SHADOWS APPEAR. And he used them freaking shadows to create platforms for Boruto to walk on.
