Nasiri Carpets

Nasiri has an extensive collection of remarkably beautiful and luxurious decorative, modern, antique and flatweave rugs. Each rug in our various collections is woven on a loom with many different types of finely knotted complex knots and strong lustrous wool. Using different and various color wool is imperative for the texture and feel of the rug. It is important to know which warp and weft to use, whether it be thick or thin. The wool makes the design with each knot. Although a time-consuming process, the results warrant this traditional approach to carpet making. The colors are rich and vibrant and the wool is of high quality. The wool is Persian, hand-carded and dyed. Nasiri practices low impact manufacturing processes while designing the most beautiful carpets. Nasiri Carpets' subtle palette is a product of all natural dyes taken from regional plants and minerals.

Highlights of the Nasiri Fall 2013 Carpet Collection

Carpets are dualistic in use, as they can be art collectibles and furniture, serving many purposes.  They’ve withstood the times for their necessity, their beauty, and their artistry.  With varying styles and motifs, sizes and shapes, there’s something for everyone.  Our 2013 collection showcases the best of the most authentic and organic carpets in the industry.   Our Damask Carpet selection this fall is breathtaking.

Damask Carpets originated from the city of Damascus, which during their commencement was a massive and important territory for trading and manufacturing.  Damascus was located within the Silk Road where merchants and such could trade their goods.  Popular textiles for carpets were silk, wool, and sometimes linen. 

These carpets have only gained notoriety as the western world has caught on to the many ways in which such carpets can enhance their living spaces.  Combining traditional and modern interior aesthetics, these carpets are irresistible. Decorative, contemporary, weaved with a mixture of wool and silk, Damask carpets are a favorite of interior designers. Colors which are bold and beautiful enable such rugs to be the focal interior piece of a room or an accent piece depending on the size, design, and color of the particular carpet one chooses.  Take a look at our most current Damask Collection.  Though we are only showing a few pieces in this post, we have many more in our showroom and are certain we have one for you.  If you have very particular taste, we can always make a custom carpet for you as well.

Zeigler

Zeigler rugs have a well known reputation and have played an important role throughout history. Historically, they originate from Iran. Zeigler, a British Company, commissioned the making of these innovative carpets. Production of these rugs commenced around 1883. Woven most often with a fine wool referred to as Ghanzi, it is woven together to produce an unbelievable piece of art.  These are innovative rugs because they combine western style with that of Persian fashion. As time has evolved, so have the designs to better suit the needs of a modernized interior décor. With beautiful understated colors, and a gradual sophistication, these striking rugs are unparalleled.

Kurdish

Kurdhish weavers are known for populating the eastern part of Turkey, West Persia, and Northern Iraq, mostly on borders. Various clans and sub create Kurdish weavers. Sub clans include Sanjabi and Jaff to name a couple. With vibrant colors, and various designs these decorative rugs are quite distinctive. Many patterns and traditions have seeped into the weaving of other tribes and are seen in various types of Persian rugs. Their designs are pioneering, for their fine silky wool, and lively often translucent colors. Having floral designs, geometric shapes, and Mina Khani patterns, these rugs suit many western interior décor styles.

Bakshaish

Bakshaish carpets have been highly influenced by Tabriz rugs. These carpets are vastly recognized as masters in the decorative Persian market realm. A perfect blend of durability, elegance, and style meet to create these decorative rugs. Known for being expansive and containing high quality materials and designs, they are truly pieces of art work. Known for their medallion decorations, these rugs are brilliant.
