Wheeee! Here we go! So this is the August #owlcrate Mystery-themed box. It comes with a fab Sherlock Holmes notebook from The Unemployed Philosophers Guild (these folks have some the neatest stuff!); a Nancy Drew keychain (I have the By The Book Boutique version, I believe); a Harriet The Spy art print from Shaileyann Designs; Sherlock-themed nail decals from Inspired Nails (70 decals in total!); and the book this month is Stephanie Tromly's debut, 'Trouble is a friend of mine', which comes with a cute pin and bookmark. Yet another book outside of my preferred genre (are we sensing a pattern here? 😄), but after reading the bookmark and back cover, I'm sooooo looking forward to reading this! Inside the box are fun #SuperAwesomePostcards from #ArchieMcPhee, adorable cat-shaped #BookBuddies from #GirlOfAllWork, a darling #HP themed hand-stamped bracelet cuff from #ShowPony, and #TheNightWeSaidYes by #LaurenGibaldi (including a signed bookplate, bookmark and story-related pin)! Phew! Enough hashtags for ya?😄 I've heard wonderful things about The Night We Said Yes, so I'm psyched it's this month's pick! (It's not my usual genre again, so I probably wouldn't have bought it for myself anytime soon. Know how I was supposed to be reading 'Every Breath'? Well, I kept seeing rave reviews about 'More Happy Than Not' (which just so happened to come in last month's Owlcrate box), so I decided to read a few pages...and then couldn't stop. It's absolutely heartbreaking, but I couldn't put it down. If you're curious about YA, prefer contemporary settings, and aren't afraid of unflinching, emotional stories, I'd highly recommend this book. #MoreHappyThanNot #AdamSilvera #YA

The second Book Riot YA box has arrived! A big one! 😃 Inside for this quarter is Chasing Shadows by Swati Avasthi; Everything Leads To You by Nina LaCour (with bonus content); A Sense Of The Infinite by Hilary T. Smith (with bonus postcards and a signed bookplate from the author); a #WithIt #FrenchBull book light and #KnotAndBow library (note) cards. And no, no Lottery Items again. Que sera sera! This is going to be my last Bookriot YA box. I really enjoy Owlcrate a whole lot more. Not only because they're monthly, but I just feel like they're more fun (in the things they pick for their boxes, and also how their staff interact online. Which may not make a whole heap of sense, but if I like 'you' & your product, I'll likely spend my $ with your company. Basic consumer behavior, I guess. 😅). I also don't like the lottery item system (not only here, but in general).
