There's still no fanfics on Ao3 of Payback the series.

Like you search Payback and the fanfics that show up are for other shows and fandoms.

There's no fandom tag.

Shows that have only been on for maybe a small amount time so far already have fanfics.

Knot has been on tv for a smaller amount of time and already has thirteen fanfics.

there are at least a few fics for the show, they're just harder to find because we don't have a single standardized canonical tag yet: Payback the series, PAYBACK The Series (2026), Payback the series (TV)

and as already mentioned in the notes, the novel/manhwa has a good number of existing fic: 페이백 - 삼크 | Payback - Samk

this is also part of the difference with shows like knot, where fans have had time to read the (tho unfinished) novel and post fics even before the show airs or shortly after

speaking as a fic author, payback as a show has been giving everything i could want so far, and lends itself a bit less to being fic-afied than some other shows, with the complex plots we're still waiting to see pan out. i'm v confident we will get more fic, and many will be the type that take a good while to write

#there's also so many shows airing right now it's hard for fic authors to keep up #so unfortunately we'll all have to keep eagerly awaiting and support those who are writing #payback the series
