grew up in arlington, texas as the youngest of three, born to a steel working father and a mother who passed shortly after giving birth to him
his father was that stereotypical middle class, football-loving asshole who was all about keeping his two girls indoors and safe while his son was left to do what he wanted as long as he kept up with his father’s hand-me-down dreams of becoming a football star
eventually found himself moving into the home of a woman who’d managed to charm the pants off of his father by bending over when she was wearing low-cut shirts and laughing at all of his stupid, beer-fueled jokes
absolutely adored, and still adores, his older sisters but he desperately wanted to flee arlington by the time he was old enough to realize that if he didn’t, he’d be stuck there
was the quarterback of his high school’s football team, was homecoming king nearly every year and prom king his senior year, dated the prettiest, most dim-witted cheerleader he could find and put on a fake smile as he rode out his high school years
despite not being the brightest bulb, though he’s certainly more intelligent than most give him credit for, he landed a full-ride athletic scholarship to lockwood university that gave him the chance to finally flee from his father and his step-mother
personality/extras
is only really majoring in history because it’s what his eldest sister is studying back in texas and he idolizes her (and because he didn’t have any concrete ideas when he came to lockwood). anything she does is immediately the right thing to do in his book
absolutely hates everything about school. he’s never been good at academics and would much rather kick back, drink some beer, and talk about football
a gigantic people-pleaser, even if it means fucking himself over in the process. desperately wants to be liked by everyone that he meets
super protective of those friends that he’s grown close to over the years. is always willing to fight for them (please let him fight someone, it’s all he really wants)
doesn’t really trust people despite being friends with everyone. he always feels like he’s going to screwed over by people if he lets them too close so, despite being a good friend, he’s pretty distant with his emotions
your run of the mill serial dater, he’s not super into commitment but is horrible about hooking up and leaving it at that. he can be super romantic and attentive and then appear to drop off the face of the earth the next second. beware!!!
is hiding a lot of aggression deep, deep down but is super ashamed of it and tries his best not to lash out whenever he’s pushed past his breaking point
