Hey Siri, how do I convince my wizard boyfriend not to blow himself up for the goddess of magic?

Visera would fight the gods for Gale, and I know I always draw post-Gale blowup as angsty and sad, but she would not take that lying down. Like yes, she’d get drunk and try to tear down Mystra’s statue. But after she sobered up, I think Visera would go into full god-slaying paladin of vengeance mode against every god that messed with her life and that of her friends.

She’s already a devil-slayer, so what’s a god or two?

Visera looked up at the statue of Mystra. The Lady of Mysteries.

"Bring him back," she said, a whisper on her exhale.

She clenched her fist around the bottle.

"Please," she begged the goddess. "I have a scroll. I have the flute! I'll do whatever it takes, just bring him back to me."

The tears burned as they spilled over the corner of her eyes.

"I'll devote my life to you, I'll spend every waking moment praying in your name if only to have him breathing beside me while I sleep."

She cursed at the silence.

"Why won't you answer my prayers?!" she demanded. "Are you truly the petty goddess they claim you are? Do you despise me because I turned him from you? Because I showed him there was life beyond the desperate grab for your attentions?"

Visera felt the rage building. Not the bloodrage she had felt as the Dark Urge, but a fury born in the depths of grief.

She threw the half empty bottle of Frostkiss Ale and watched it shatter at the feet of the statue. The liquid slowly spilled between the crevices of the stone, filling the holes it couldn't fill within her.

"Was it worth it?" she asked, backing into the stone column and sliding down to the floor. "Has he earned your forgiveness?"

Visera closed her eyes.

"Have I earned his?"

While the Butler is a super fun and spooky visualization for the urges your Dark Urge faces, I always loved the idea of them manifesting as the past version of you.

Imagine the potential of the same-self trial in Shar’s Guantlet. Or even if after certain events in the Temple of Bhaal, having to face and destroy that part of you once’s it’s been torn out of your blood.

Visera of course would never stab her wizard. She prefers him fully intact, human, and not blown up alongside a netherbrain.
