LEON KENNEDY.

ᝰ.ᐟ It started off small, as a higher up DSO agent, meeting rookie Leon after his training was kind of like meeting a dog that didn't quite know it was gonna become a K-9 yet. It was funny at first, watching even the slight twinkle in his eyes, knowing that they were gonna take it away.
ᝰ.ᐟ Or at least, until they told you that he was assigned to your department. Then it wasn't as much of a laughing matter as when you were watching him stumble over his own training commands. It quickly became making sure he could actually make it on his feet instead of tripping over them.
ᝰ.ᐟ You noticed Leon's crush off the bat. You'd have to be oblivious not to notice a crush that he had on you, even work-wise. The way he sat and listened to you complain about paperwork, or even when you complained about him. It was a pain in the ass to not be able to take on your usual ranked work because you had a rookie trailing behind you now.
ᝰ.ᐟ Working for DSO, you lived in government instituted dorms, you had been lucky enough to had been alone for most of your time working for them, until Leon came around. Then you had to share, which you didn't get notified of until the unused bed that you were so used to being empty, became filled with the familiar stature of Leon.
ᝰ.ᐟ You quickly realized that you weren't just there to train Leon, clearly they had stuck him with you. Like a sidekick, which to you, you would obviously be Sherlock or Batman, Leon would obviously be Robin or Watson.
ᝰ.ᐟ You adapted. That was your job, despite listening to his horrible quips, there was something about the way his head tilted when you started bringing him a coffee when you got yourself one. Though, you brushed it off as it being more efficient than having to pause working so he could get himself a coffee.
ᝰ.ᐟ The living together situation was flexible, in generous terms. The work was divided by whoever ended up on the ground or needed a break during training first, had to clean the room. Whoever ran the track slower had to do the dishes, whoever got the least hits during target practice had to get the coffee.
ᝰ.ᐟ Leon's crush didn't fade, not really. You could still tell in little ways, like how he would stay at the conference table longer if you were doing paperwork. Or if you were dead on your ass tired, he'd purposefully lose at whatever competition you were doing to divide up chores.
ᝰ.ᐟ You doubted he was gonna say anything. Especially not when you had a mission coming up soon, or worse, because you knew Leon, you know he might do it during the mission when he got stressed. You and Leon had been on twelve smaller sized missions together since he got recruited, he was just fine on his feet. The quips exhausted you, but they weren't any worse than your last partner's rants.
ᝰ.ᐟ The sex came abruptly, right before your departure for he mission. Leon had been tense all night, which was fair, you were about to go on the highest ranking mission he had ever been on, it made sense he'd be anxious. So, he did what you only hoped he wouldn't, he decided that was a good time to tell you he liked you.
ᝰ.ᐟ Both of you were half drunk, so that's exactly how he said it. "I really like you, I have since I first started training." except for a little bit more slur to his words, but just as heartfelt(?) as he (probably) meant it. It was led up by your groan, knowing that you really didn't have time to unpack all of that.
ᝰ.ᐟ So naturally, the quickest way you could really unpack those feelings to a minimum was to not unpack it at all, to pour it all out through sex. It was sticky, and needy, and had the thick scent of beer between it. Leon was grabby, your hips, your thighs. You could hear him grunt out stupid, sentimental feelings that you were busy trying to smash down.
ᝰ.ᐟ In the morning, you didn't want to talk about it. You were too hungover to even attempt to. But Leon of course did, when he realized you didn't, he would try to hint at it in subtle manners, or he would repeat certain phrases he said the night before and watch your face to see if you recognized it, or even registered it.
ᝰ.ᐟ Every single time you would brush it off with the need to pack, or the need to get on the helicopter, sometimes that he was talking too loudly and he was hurting your head. You didn't want to talk about it, you were like, sixty percent sure there was a twenty percent chance they'd fire you for even having sex with Leon the night before.
ᝰ.ᐟ You kept your sunglasses on the entire trip, you didn't really speak, you mostly just ate your burrito while Leon talked to the pilot. You didn't think anyone would ever match Leon's stupid quips until you heard Max the pilot start making jokes back at him.
ᝰ.ᐟ The mission itself was relentless, one thing around the corner after another. It was almost like a video game, you were separated, there was a giant castle, you had to walk through a sewer system that you were pretty sure hadn't been cleaned since the eighteen hundreds. Leon, on the other hand, followed behind you like he was a child in trouble.
ᝰ.ᐟ In fact, when the two of you got separated, it felt like a relief for a good forty minutes. Forty minutes until you saw the hugest biohazard you've ever seen running at you, and then you really wished Leon was there. Maybe as a savior, more preferably as bait. As you were running and hiding, you did have time to think about the night before the mission, and how you felt towards Leon.
ᝰ.ᐟ Though, each time it was quickly chopped up by having to run for your life again, because bullets wouldn't do. You ended up getting pretty roughed up, naturally, which was ironic because you usually are the one saving Leon's ass. Leon was the one who saved you, much to your relief or despair. What mattered is you weren't gonna die by something that might've been bigger than Krauser's ego.
ᝰ.ᐟ Within your time of evaluation without Leon, and now with him back. You had to put an end to him hinting, asking, grabbing, at least for right now. So, you told him you liked him too. You also told him that you weren't gonna discuss it until you got back to the DSO institute.
a/n: another mid ass Leon fic to add to the millions, but I needed something out for my birthday, so whatever. that's about it, and I might do a part two, the last couple don't feel satisfying to me but whatever, the rest of it is good.
