“Excuse me?” she asked him with a furrow of her brow, only to pause when she finally calmed enough to hear what he said. “Yes!” she finally nodded with a lopsided smile on her face. “That would be me. I’m surprised that you remembered, but I’m selfishly hoping that it’s for the cupcakes.”
❝ Of course , they were great . My co-workers absolutely adore you for that . ❞ He nodded , tossing the wrench aside on a rolling cart containing his toolbox . ❝ Please don’t tell me you’re here because your truck broke down again . ❞ Noah chuckled .
“And you really shouldn’t think people are sneakin’ up on you in a public garage,” Charlie countered, though there was a light sense of humor to his words. He was on his way back to the bar when he decided to stop in to check on a couple parts he’d ordered for his truck, though it was on a whim so it came as no surprise that nobody was really around. “Rick’s not here, is he?”
❝ Unfortunately for you , he is not . All the guys just left for lunch , and me ? Well , I’ve got a Subaru to fix up for one Mrs . Sanchez . ❞ Nathan replied before turning around to look at the other male . ❝ What can I help you with ? ❞
“ FAIR ENOUGH , ” exhales through lips worried between her teeth , hoping she’s not overstepping any boundaries . “ i broke down across the street , and i have to deliver a cake to a bridal shower . is there any way you can help me out ? i’d bother someone else , but . . . ” her gaze flickers around the near - empty premises , earning a meager shrug from the baker . “ please ? ”
❝ We won’t be able to get it finished until Wednesday , I’m afraid . ❞ Nathan pressed his lips together and turned around . He tucked the wrench into his back pocket before making a suggestion , ❝ I could give you a ride , if you want ? ❞
Amelia had managed to make sure her delivery truck got as far as the nearest mechanic shop before it died on her. Luckily, with the amount of time she’d had it, she’s come to know the signs prior to it crashing. It provided her with enough time to park it at a safe location where it could get fixed. Unfortunately for her, the mechanic shop seemed vacant the moment she walked up to the door, but with a push, she stepped in cautiously, asking if anyone was here. While she knew she should stop, she needed to make sure to fix her truck before her baked goods went passed date, only to turn and almost bump into an employee. “I’m sorry!” the girl gasped, placing her hand upon her chest. “I tried calling out but no one answered! I’m really, really sorry.”
He felt kind of bad for startling the poor woman , also because she didn’t seem to get that he was only joking . When he turned around to face her , he had a small smile on his face upon remembering her last visit . ❝ Oh , it’s you . You’re the one who brought us the cupcakes for fixing your truck , right ? What can I do for you ? ❞
“thank you,” her voice was plain and simple with an addition of a shake of her head. “thank you, seriously. what would i do without you, nathan?” she pursed her lips to blow against the boiling hot drink. her eyes picked up as she continued to blow, her attention focusing back on her friend more than anything else. “remind me to never ask for regular coffee from this place ever again.”
❝ And that is exactly what you would do without me . ❞ He said , referring to her request to keep her from making the same mistake . ❝ How’ve things been ? ❞ Nathan asked as he leaned back in the leather seat , making himself more comfortable .
The raven haired male was hard at work in the garage of the shop , sweat beads gathering on his forehead . He was hunched over a car digging under the hood with his forearms nearly covered in grease . Nathan was the only one there as everyone else went to go get lunch and he was dedicated to getting the Subaru finished before the end of the day . As he worked diligently , brows furrowed in concentration and all , there was someone approaching him from behind . He didn’t bother to look over his shoulder before speaking , ❝ You really shouldn’t sneak up on someone who has a wrench in their hand . ❞
she had been waiting for this all day. a warm, soothing cup of coffee had been on her mind since she woke up and now it was finally in front of her. when her hands grabbed at the mug, the warmth caused a giddy shake down her spine. but as soon as the liquid touched her tongue, all she could do was gasp. it wasn’t warm, it was boiling. “fuck!” she escalated, the liquid pursing through her taste buds and back into the mug she had been holding. “holy fuck - “ she huffed, an embarrassed laugh following as she took a breather.
Nathan had to quickly swallow down his own coffee as he watched his friend spit out her own . There was a small chuckle that rose from his throat at the sight in front of him . ❝ Yes , coffee tends to be hot unless you ask for iced . ❞ He teased , meaning no harm with his words .
could this be a hangover or pure exhaustion? the way she’s hung over the back of a seat, head resting on it’s frame with folded hands in her lap, legs outstretched and crossed at the ankles, it’s hard to interpret specifically what has her looking like a bus just rammed her. an eye peaks open, then shuts the same time a shadow blocks the sun. “—— if you stick your finger in my ear i will kill you.”
LOCATION: GABRIEL’S CAFE, GOLDEN GATE PARK, HOSPITAL FOYER, WHATEVER.
Nathan finished his cappuccino and after he’d gotten up someone already took his previous spot . It was a shame that only after he walked away he realized he left his toolbox behind . When he returned he was met with a brunette who’d seemed to be resting her feet on top of it . ❝ Do I really give off the impression that I just stick fingers in people’s ears ? Damn . I really reached an all time low . ❞ Nathan joked . ❝ I think you’re using my toolbox as a footrest . ❞
“yo, you —” he points, “yeah, i’m talkin’ to you. you look like you could do me a favor real quick.” he waves his hand, flags them down with them ‘c’mon’ motion as he rubs his hands together all too readily. before them is one of those blow-up jungle gyms, slides and walls galore. “i need a partner for this obstacle course. you don’t got any knee problems, right??”
LOCATION: PIER 39, SIX FLAGS, SOME BASIC CITY TOUR, UHHH.
Nathan got a day off from work and made the decision to wander around Pier 39 to pass the time , the sun was tolerable and he’d gotten used to the heat a long time ago . Unfortunately , it was clear he chose the wrong place and the wrong time when he was suddenly called out by another male . ❝ I don’t know what gave you that impression because you’re greatly mistaken . ❞ And yet , he walked closer and eyed the blow up course skeptically . The things people will do for prizes , he thought . ❝ What the HELL do you get out of doing this ? ❞ Nathan asked , although he probably should’ve just faked a twisted ankle or something by now .
━━━ BOB MORLEY. THIRTY. CISMALE. HE/HIM. ↷ do you hear stand by me , by ki: theory ? that must be NATHAN PAXTON . he has been living in san francisco as a mechanic for 2 years . during that time they have earned the reputation of the cataclysmic. it makes sense you know, they can be sarcastic and impulsive . but let’s not forget they’re pretty brave and humorous .
hey everyone , my name’s alex and i can’t wait to start interacting with y’all !! i’m coming at you with an old muse of mine named nathan . if anybody wants to plot something then just hmu on here or contact me on discord. ( i’ll be adding more to this over time )
( TW: Miscarriage ) Nathan’s entire world changed when he was seven and his mother suffered a miscarriage while five months pregnant . He was too young to understand what was going on but it was the beginning of the end of his parent’s marriage . His mother couldn’t afford to be on her own since she’d had Nathan at a young age and never got a college degree so they discouragingly stayed together despite the love between them being gone .
His uncle lived in the same town and Nathan would often go and stay at his place to escape the suffocating toxic home life . He taught him everything he knew about cars and engines and really became a father figure to Nathan since his own dad barely wanted to spend any time with him .
The tipping point of the iceberg that led to Nathan moving out of Beaufort was a girl who broke the news to him that she was pregnant which he later found out was a lie to keep him from going back to school and leaving her . After breaking things off he moved to San Francisco to get his degree and finally leave behind his past .
He has his own set of tools that he uses for work given to him by his uncle as a going away gift . If he doesn’t have the whole toolkit in hand, he probably has a wrench in his back pocket .
When Nathan was younger he aspired to go into the marine biology field and was obsessed with whales for a small portion of time although he’ll never admit that or the fact that he’d slept with a stuffed killer whale until he was thirteen .
