A Note From Coach Pete: Taking lessons with NSoB/NSoS is a process and a two-way commitment. Everything we do is based on creating "perfect mechanics" with the use of as much biomechanics as possible. I am a National Pitching Association Level 1 Biomechancis Coach and will be Level 2 by early March. Perfect mechanics cannot be developed in a few lessons. It just doesn't work that way. It is about "perfect repetitions" of "cross specific" drills used to create perfect mechanics. I say this every day, and it is a scientific fact: "It takes 1,000 perfect repetitions to create or break a habit. It takes 10,000 perfect repetitions to make something automatic. The coach, the student and the parents have to buy into this, or it will not stick. And yes, we probably WILL change the way a student hits or pitches or fields. Why? Because our goal is to create perfect mechanics so the student can be the Best Prepared Player on the field. Once you are the best prepared player - you can then consistently perform at the highest levels their physical abilities will allow you to! So, if a player complains that we are changing how they do something; they are right. That's what lessons are for. The changes we make are specifically designed to make the player better!
Finally, we are very proud to announce the addition of Coach MacKensey Carter to our staff. MacKensey will be our Softball Pitching Expert.
Here is Coach MacKensey's Bio: Mackensey Carter was a four time letter-winning pitcher and position player at Georgetown University (2008-2012). During her time at Georgetown, she was named to All-Big East teams all four years and was named team MVP her sophomore year. Prior to college, she played competitive softball in Southern California and was coached by top coaches, including three national team players. She now gives private pitching, hitting, and fielding instruction for fast pitch softball players of all ages and skill levels.
Coach MacKensey will be available every Monday for Pitching Lessons. She will offer sessions of 30 or 45 minutes. Please call for more details.
WELCOME Coach MacKensey!!!!
A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words
After just 3 months, the growth of the National School of Baseball and Softball has been quite astonishing. What we hoped would separate us from others has...and that is specializing in small groups and using biomechanics to help create perfect mechanics. It is perfect mechanics that makes a player the best prepared player on the field. And when you are the best prepared player on the field you will be the best player your physical abilities will allow you to be!
Here are four incredible examples of how Biomechanics is slowly transforming our students. There is more to come....but with tryouts beginning and tough preseason practices around the corner, we wanted to give you an up close and personal look at what we are talking about.
There are a lot more videos to come....all of our students deserve one, and we will get there!
Like the old saying goes, "a picture is worth a thousand words".
The key is to keep working...even AFTER tryouts are over. It's all about "perfect reps"
It takes 1,000 perfect reps to create or break a habit
It takes 10,000 perfect reps to make something automatic

ARE YOU READY FOR TRY-OUTS? YOU NEED TO BE!
Baseball and softball try-outs can be a mind-blowing experience, especially for younger players who have never experienced them, or those have not done as well as they would have liked to in the past.
The KEY to being successful at these nerve-wracking sessions is to be "PREPARED". You need to be the "best prepared player" you can possibly be, when it's you turn to either hit, field, pitch or throw.
How do you do that? From experience I can tell you, that is not done by taking some swings in a batting cage or pitching with friends/family. It's not even accomplished by being one of 15-20 kids taking lessons or instructions from one or two coaches.
It is scientifically proven, that the most effective way to teach and to learn is in small groups of 3-6 players. This is no joke, this is an authentic statement. Small groups are even more effective than one-on-one drills.
Why? Because in small groups players get the one-on-one attention they truly need to learn and to remember how to create "perfect mechanics". Small groups feed off of each other. Players not only instinctively compete, the learn to help each other, both during the session and at home - which is referred to "Sandlot Learning".
At the National School of Baseball and Softball, we firmly believe in "small group lessons". It is the "bread and butter" of our business, and our success has been undeniable. Not only are the players learning and having fun (the look in their eyes and face when things "click" is priceless", their parents are just as happy. Why? Because they not only learn the drills the players can take home with them to make sure they are doing them right, they learn the value and what they do. How? Because we tell them! One of our student's rights, is to allow them and their parents to ask questions. It is our responsibility to give them an authentic answer.
Most local tryouts start the weekend of February 7th. Let the NSoB & NSoS prepare your young player for these tryouts and tough preseason practices.
Every warm-up, exercise, drill, discussion etc. are specifically designed to create "perfect mechanics", and it is "perfect mechanics" that allows you to be the "Best Prepared Player" you can possibly be. "Perfect mechanics" puts a player in a position to actualize the maximum potential that their physical abilities allow them to be.
This is our guarantee - if the player takes ownership and buys into the process.
