Idk why some people are still acting like everyone should just be totally ok with and not have any negative feelings about being isolated, especially when we’re almost a year out. Humans are extremely social to the point where solitary confinement is one of the most inhumane punishments for us

i feel like a lot of people people immediately jump to 'fuck you it's not that hard' when someone expresses that they don't like feeling isolated because they're afraid acknowledging negative feelings is innately a slippery slope to anti mask anti lockdown sentiment or an endorsement of going out and sharing germs instead of a very normal reaction to a genuinely shitty situation

Me externally: This is so easy! Wearing a mask everywhere is so much FUN! I love the fact that all I’ve done for the last SIX MONTHS is go to work and go home!!! I’ve caught up on so many TV shows, and read so many books! LOOK AT THE BREAD I MADE!!!This is such an easy thing to do and anyone who complains is a whiny baby!

Me internally: I feel like I’m holding onto my sanity by my fingertips. BUT if I show even the smallest amount of weakness my mom will take it as proof that the Facebook doctors psychopaths are right and she’ll start going out again! With her medical history getting Covid is basically a death sentence and while she drives me crazy- I know losing her would break something in me that could never be fixed. I don’t think I could survive it.

So to keep that from happening, I just got to keep up the charade that this is easy and for a couple more days weeks months years
