This Anime is one I found randomly on I think Netflix of all places flipping through shows and has done irreparable damage to my psyche. I think of that girl in the red coat every waking moment of my life. That scene with her mom? Shoving the girl's face in an icy sink, shouting "you don't want to show up to school with a puffy face, do you?!?" After beating her own child? Chilling. Sticks in your brain like melted Styrofoam.

REVIVAL AS A CONCEPT?!? His first instinct when going back to his childhood being to clutch his mother as tight as he could?? Raw. I'm curled up in a ball sobbing.

Please watch this anime if you stumble across it. The twist end will punch you right in your solar plexus and wind you for years after.

Shut the fu- whatever. Anyways. I love Light as a Villain Protagonist, I stand by he's a nuanced character that had SOME interesting points worth POSSIBLY having deeper thoughts on.

HOWEVER. Him setting up every domino and chess piece to serve his needs and hide his ass, from the moment he learned Shimigami have a weakness and Misa's codependency to him, so that if Ren writes L's real name in the notebook it kills her in the process and severing the single protective influence in Misa's life, leaving her vulnerable to his manipulations and emotional neglect, that shit is skin crawlingly horrific in a real world sense.

Like holy shit dude! That is some DARK ASS, game of thrones, Ramsey Bolton level psychopathy. What the fuck bro!

As much as the S1 theme song is ICONIC and top on my list of opening songs, S2's just itches something in the back of my brain. It gives me the same energy that Chauncey666 and his crew The Orange Gang do, just itching and twitching and pacing in circles kind of beat. Also? The visuals almost match that rapid spiral Light reaches once he reaches his goal with L and Near and Mellow enter the picture. I really wanna get that one image of Ryuk chasing an apple as a tattoo SO BAD its so goofy, the fisheye pov of L, THE MISA FRAMES?!? I love all of it. Dorohedoro (1000% spelt that wrong.) Has the same kind of intro just fantastic stills back to back with sick ass screamo. Hell yeah!

I'm sorry Greg, the Anime Chronicle, but I was born in 2002, and was four when the Anime released. I love rewatching death note the older I get. It's so funny and I genuinely love the suspense. When Light got that FBI Agent's name after she nearly found out he was Kira, despite cackling like Ryuk the whole build up I too was panicking as she handed over her ID and Light got her real name. God I love this anime.

I just got a commercial for the Armed Forces (I think Army, not sure) and they were pushing hard about the GI Bill and going back to school while enlisted.

Chat we are so fucked. They were talking about the GI Bill the moment I stepped foot into my First Year JROTC Class and I've known what it was since middle school while we were in Iraq. We are so fucked if they're bringing it up again to boost recruitment numbers. The War is about to get so much worse.

Avatar WOW / FAA headcanon for the Na'vi language, I know the names are probably wrong I'm doing my best ;~;

I believe that the perspective and fluency we as an audience experience is wholly dependent on who we're with. I have two camps, the Jake POV (or Sully family members, I'm calling it jake for simplicity sake) and Quarige POV.

Jake's POV, starting from way of water, as a pretty general fluency, so most scenes are in terms of us being a fly on the wall, are done in Na'vi but we perceive it as English - since if you remember Jake states in the start of WOW that after a couple years he understood it as easily as English. This includes any scenes with Netyri, the Omiticaya and Base Came until we hit the Metkiyena clan.

Now, here's the fun part. When we get to Quarige, he has a novice/basic level of Na'vi - see Loak making fun of his phrasing when captured in WOW, so this is where the subtitiles and translations kick in. I noticed that most of the scenes where Na'vi is spoken it's with RDA avatars, Spider being forced to translate to terrified sea folk and whenever Quarige is speaking Na'vi to others.

Anyway, just my thoughts!

Go watch Bloodlines it's a great movie I was pleasantly surprised and expected it to nudge at the camera more than it did
