We must remember to live because we cannot forget death.

I’ve never feared change, not when I’ve been forced to move schools, or states, even halfway across the planet. Because I knew my time in those places was limited. So I lived, and I was never scared of leaving behind the home, the friends, the enemies, everything I cared and didn’t care about enough: because I was more scared of what I didn’t know. What would happen next? What lies beyond the door? I’d rather ask these questions than remorse over wasted time in the past.

It’s ironic, though, that 1 has several different meanings. It can mean unique, special, the one and only. It can also mean the last of something, the only one left.

But it can also mean simply the first.
