Final Blog :)
From september to now we have been blogging on tumblr, on topics that relate to in class issues, our own topics, and even topics that prepared us for projects. For each blog that was given I believe I became a better writer. I have now learned how to used words and sentences that matter, while still getting straight to the point. In each blog we were supposed to pay close attention to ethos, logos, and pathos. Logos and ethos always seemed to be the problem for me. I tend to write the way how I speak, although it is never intentional, it limits my capabilities as a writer. Most of the time the blogs that were written were my story, so it was hard not to come off arrogant or rude, because it was the way that I was feeling. I felt that if I was angry about a certain situation, then the audience should be to. I started to learn how to go around these issues and speak as if I wanted the audience to hear where I was coming from and explain my story so that the reader can have their own feelings. One thing I did learn was that blogging does not always have to be negative, it can literally be anything you want it to be, even something as simple as the things you learned in class today; there will always be somebody out there reading.
I also never felt the need to create different paragraphs while blogging because I thought “Well this is not an essay, so who cares” it then hit me when I was not receiving all the points for the blogs because of this, that it was important. I learned that even if it is just a blog breaking sentences up in multiple paragraphs helps the reader understand things better, they are not just staring at a bunch of words, dreading to reach to the bottom. This was then beneficial to my writing in general, because I always make sure that my paragraphs are never too long. Blogging also helped me to learn how to express myself without having to say something to a person face to face. Some of the stories that I blogged about was never once spoken of, because I hate expressing my feelings; doing this made me feel some source of comfort and relief.
All in all, blogging helped me with minor weaknesses I had as a writer, so it prepared me for writing essays. Each day I would continue to develop my writing skills and learn from my mistakes. My strengths will only get better, and sentence structure will only become easier. Although I probably would never use tumblr again, I am grateful, to experience it and learn my ways around it.
