Fun fact, the crab bucket thing is a misunderstood community defense mechanism.

If you're a crab, you spend most of your time chilling on the ocean floor. Your number one predator- large fish, but especially Rays- swoop down, gulp you up, and swoop back up.

So crabs, when they sense danger, instinctively clutch each other. It's easy to snatch a stray crab, almost impossible to snatch a large mass with a death grip on each other.

Crabs in buckets know they're in danger, but the only way they know to protect themselves is by joining together.

Nobody ever seems to blame the bucket.
