The idea of framing oppression as "who has it worse vs who has it better based on a list of marginalized identities" is inherently flawed and foundationally anti-intersectional.
An intersectional lense is meant to be a tool to discuss the lives of marginalized people complexly and discuss the ways multiple systemic power structures that impact, oppress, and marginalize us simultaneously — not do math to figure out who is the most oppressed.
Kimberlé Crenshaw has talked extensively about how she dislikes the way intersectionality is misused to just add up different marginalizations and say "this demographic is the most oppressed group to exist". That is not the purpose of intersectionality in an academic context, nor is it the purpose of intersectionality in an applied context. It's a tool for analysis. A tool for understanding. A tool for giving language and voice to complex systemic issues while treating marginalized people like their entire selves.
It's not a tool to go "this demographic has it the worst ever" online to attempt to shut down other marginalized people.
It's like you people don't even know Kimberlè Crenshaw is also a foundational voice in the development of Critical Race Theory.
Reading the new checks that might come in due to the Online Safety Act in the UK and this is actually bullshit

And how will I prove my age?
There’s a number of methods a site or app might use to ask you to confirm your age. They might do this check themselves or use another company to do the check. These methods include:
Facial age estimation – you show your face via photo or video, and technology analyses it to estimate your age.
Open banking – you give permission for the age-check service to securely access information from your bank about whether you are over 18. The age-check service then confirms this with the site or app.
Digital identity services – these include digital identity wallets, which can securely store and share information which proves your age in a digital format.
Credit card age checks – you provide your credit card details and a payment processor checks if the card is valid. As you must be over 18 to obtain a credit card this shows you are over 18.
Email-based age estimation – you provide your email address, and technology analyses other online services where it has been used – such as banking or utility providers - to estimate your age.
Mobile network operator age checks – you give your permission for an age-check service to confirm whether or not your mobile phone number has age filters applied to it. If there are no restrictions, this confirms you are over 18.
Photo-ID matching – this is similar to a check when you show a document. For example, you upload an image of a document that shows your face and age, and an image of yourself at the same time – these are compared to confirm if the document is yours.

Not only is this such a fucking breach of privacy, but this is going to hurt adults in vulnerable and abusive situations. Some adults don’t have bank accounts or credit cards or even a fucking phone. I’m one of them. I could not give half of this information even if I wanted to. What the fuck is this. Fuck the UK government. This isn’t going to protect kids, this is just going to hurt adults, and I know full well when they say “sites that allow pornography” they’re going to be going after sites that have huge amounts of queer content, like tumblr and Ao3. Queer kids are gonna lose their fucking communities because of this shit. Abuse victims are going to lose online support systems because of this.
I’m genuinely fucked off about this, and worried about whether I’m going to lose every single one of my online friends. Anyone in the UK, please email your MP and sign this petition. It needs to reach 100k signatures to pass through Parliament.
I’m only hoping the backlash will be big enough for them to stop implementing these measures.
We want the Government to repeal the Online Safety act.
I know we are all used to hear bad news from the USA or UK when it comes to trans rights but this time Germany wants to play in the same league.
Our idiots at home ministry came up with the fucking idea to start a register for all transgender and nonbinary people which would mean every person working at some public position could always at any given time see your assigned gender at birth, your deadname, your address and who knows what else.
We had been there in the past. Hitler Germany called it the "Travestite Law" back then. Our politicians didn't learn.
We all know this is unacceptable.
Please, if you are German, sign it. If you are not, spread it wide and far.
This had been stopped once a few years ago. It needs to be stopped again.

TVL Teaser Trailer | (Original video by Lidi on Bluesky)
I can maybe understand if someone refuses to talk about bigger issues like the part of the fandom that was mad even before the show was out just because they made characters black, has made hateful comments about Assad, joked about wanting to see his character getting raped, visited a plantation, created stories about Jacob and Sam having an affair, made up lies about Assad not getting along with his cast mates (when there's no indication of it: everyone praises him and we've seen him spending time with them all off work, specially alone with Luke, Eric and Sam), invented stuff about Sam and his family, d0xxed, threatened others, the SDCC situation where apparently they made a false report on someone and a Latina fan had to show their documentation and prove their American citizenship? and/or more. Anyway...
I can comprehend if someone is more about reblogging than making posts, or if they don't wanna look for information because that is complicated and takes time, if they use Tumblr for fun and escapism because life is too draining etc... It makes sense.
But reducing serious topics like racism, islamophobia, d0xxing, etc, to ship wars or trying to sabotage "Jam" is just low, disgusting, and intentionally malicious. Please, at least go back to being silent about these things instead of straight-up lying.
cant stop thinking about him ✨

Lestat, drugs, and rock & roll...
Gifs by me, taken from the SDCC25 teaser I cleaned up
So I found out yesterday that “taking turns driving across the Golden Gate Bridge” is actually a sexual euphemism for switching.
Lestat was insulting Louis’ sex life with Armand and Louis countered by saying they were actually quite giving and playful with each other.
Reminder that again, they are talking about this in front of their LAWYERS. At the DEAD OF NIGHT.
