INTRO: IWTV/TVC Society, a fandom project (Last update: 08/15)

Welcome! Hello, I am Domy, and I'm creating this project to share content about the show and its fans and promote intersectionality. This project is still pretty new, I'm still having ideas, seeing what I can pull off, figuring out the rules, etc. So, don't be surprised if the activity from a day to another is not the same, or if I try doing something, only to never do it again... I'm still seeing what works and what doesn't. When I have a concrete idea of what to do, I will give everyone a more organized update about it. For now, this is what I have.

1. THE PROJECT SO FAR WILL BE ON THREE PLATFORMS

Here on Tumblr, Instagram, and Twitter/X. It will temporarily hold the addresses of tbditwtvproject until the name is finally decided. I might expand it to other platforms in the future, but for now, it will be those three. P.S. Twitter/X is inactive right now because I'm having problems with the platform.

Informational material about intersectionality and representation

Recommendations of educational and entertaining content made by queer, disabled, Muslim, people of color, and other minorities

Any other thing that might not be listed here, but that still fits this concept

There will be no favoritism, there might only be some difference when it comes to recurring characters and guest stars

For example, Madeleine appeared more than Daciana, so there is more stuff about her available out there

Still, each regular character and ship will have the same count, no matter their popularity

Every content shared by people who are present on the same site will be added by through reblog (on Tumblr), old retweet/current repost (on former Twitter/now X), and a collaboration (on Instagram). If the creator is absent on one of those sites, the material will be reposted and include links of their other platforms. Things will ONLY/ALWAYS be exhibited with the PERMISSION of the author and the proper CREDITS.

3. RULES TO PARTICIPATE

Drawings and paintings must respect skin tone of the actors (if you have a photo, screenshot or video as reference, even better)

Drawings and paintings can't have nudity (characters being shirtless or kissing is accepted)

Comments, metas, reviews, and reactions must have some level of formality on their tone

For example, constructive criticism and a little bit of cursing are allowed, but not texts or videos that are mostly demonizing just one character or with constant swearing

Video edits can contain sex scenes

Anything with slurs and/or offensive stereotypes is forbidden unless the creator is someone who can claim the use of that, and even then, the case will be studied before posting, it might not be shared and/or get deleted depending on how the followers feel about it

If something is shared and later it is found that the creator is a troll, doxxer, or a bully of any kind, their work will be immediately removed without any warnings

That will only be done with proof in order to avoid affecting someone innocent, so if you have a complaint, send evidence because assumptions will be discarded

4. HOW TO SEND YOUR OWN MATERIAL OR RECOMMEND SOMEONE ELSE

If you have anything made by yourself or somebody you know that you would like to send, just share the content via inbox, say which sites/platforms of yours should be included on the post (Tumblr, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Discord, Archive of Our Own, Patreon, and/or more) and any other conditions you might have. If you're suggesting a different person, give their contact information, please. Again, NOTHING WILL BE ADDED WITHOUT PERMISSION OF THE AUTHOR.

5. HELP IS WELCOME AND NEEDED

There are three ways people can help me with this:

Finding material to be shared, getting permission, and all the links to be included on the credits. You can do this whenever you want sporadically or on a regular basis, becoming a moderator.

Being consultants. This is a diverse and intersectional show with queer, South Asian, Muslim, and people of color in all shades. I can't speak for all these groups. And even if I could, I'd be only one person, and people aren't a monolith. So, if anyone has a similar background to the characters/actors and would like to be a consultant to make sure this project offers the very best for the fandom, your contribution will be wholeheartedly appreciated.

Helping create a logo, header, banner, and templates for the Instagram and Twitter/X posts. I want the project to be organized and have a casual identity when it gets a name, but I'm not very good at graphic design, and I don't have a lot of resources to do that, and that's the reason why the blog looks so simple right now. So, I would love it if anyone contributed with that.

P.S. Help will is needed, and it will be welcome, accepted, deeply appreciated, and credited. Still, to avoid any kind of problems, especially since I recently faced one on my other blog, I will be the only one having access to the accounts on all platforms.

This will be slow, at least at first, because, again, I'm doing this alone and am still seeing what works or doesn't. Some things might change in the future depending on the limits of what I can do or just the response of the followers.

There might be mistakes, but I will try my best not to make any, and if I do, I'm already apologizing in advance. Just know that everything here is done with the best intentions and as much care as possible.

Please, DON'T be shy and your own stuff and/or suggestions! If you don't, this WILL NEVER WORK, and I will probably have to DELETE IT! Again, for now, I'm doing this alone, so I can only go from person to person so many times. That takes A LOT OF TIME, and even LONGER to get their answers. Yesterday I went to a friend who had considered showing their work, but they got insecure and didn't until I asked. ANY, EACH AND EVERY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED, THE MORE THE BETTER!

By making armard not Christian orthodox , they denied the characters to have interesting conversation about Religion and they Personal beliefs something deep and Personal to think about .And they stole the Fans the oppurtunity to talk about this topics because now even if this topics are disscused in future season of the Show we can not have this conversation because everybody who not agress with armard is going to be called islamophobic.

Well, I think religion, existence, questions about God, good, evil, life, death and guilt are a constant on the books, in a way that you can't really run away from when you're adapting them. I expect to see a deep exploration of these themes in the future, just like we have gotten it so far.

And I believe the more the better, so I hope they use more religions than Anne, who was just focused on Christiniaty. And that's not to say there can't be a Christian Ortodox in the future, there is room for that. And I'd love to see it, just as I would love to see an exploration of that with Hinduism, Budism, Taoism, Yoruba faith etc, and just as much as I love having a Muslim Armand.

Before they announced Gabrielle, I was really hoping for an actor who was trans and/or under the non-binary umbrella. But I didn't get mad when revealed Jennifer will play the role, because I trust their choice, Sam was praising her left and right and I know it would be hard to find someone to play her. But I still think they should have a non-binary actor playing Petronia, Zenobia and/or another character in the future.

Personally, one of Brendan Fraser's sons has always reminded me a bit of Armand. At least he resembles some of the fan art. But honestly, I haven't seen anyone who fits the role better than Assad Zaman. He is the perfect Armand (for me 😅🙏)

I think the whole idea of what's canon and what's good casting and what isn't is pretty subjective.

For me, it's all about the essence. When I read books, I have a good idea of how I want the characters to speak, move, walk, what their facial expressions and mannerisms are. Then, actors who match my vision come to mind. Sometimes, I struggle to find someone who corresponds to my idea, even if they match the visual aesthetics, and I wait until I find the artist or they are cast in the adaptation. There have also been cases where I had something in mind, but the movie/show was so much better that I started imagining that performer instead of my previous fancast. And there are cases where I can imagine different people at the same time. And that happens even when I consume the adaptation before the source material, for example, I never accepted Alexandra Daddario as Annabeth, it was always AnnaSophia Robb for me and I was really angry about it as a child. 😅

I watched the show first, and I believe Assad, Sam, and Luke embody their book counterparts in a way that is extremely hard to see. They really look possessed, and that's not just me saying it, Sam, Delainey and Bailey have fangirled over how Assad and Sam completely transform into the character. He really has the look in the eyes, the voice, the stillness and quiet fire Armand is supposed to have. I was blown away, and I was actually more impressed by his performance after reading the books! I was able to notice the amount of detail he added to Armand after consuming the novels, because at first I thought those were just random and unimportant stuff. With Louis, I think he is fairly different, but for the best. I wasn't a fan of original Louis, but I wholeheartedly consider Jacob's performances one of the best works I've ever seen. Claudia and Daniel are on the same level to me, they're very different too, but just as interesting (I love the idea of a child vampire because the concept is very compelling and terrifying).

So l don't bother as much, because I focus on other aspects. If they are able to be as sensitive, funny, aggressive or whatever as that specific character is, I don't care if they have the same physical appearance or not. The Armand from the movie and the one from show are both older and with different hair. But the show works for me because he had good writing and even better performance, and unfortunately the only actually good character from the movie is Claudia imo. For me, he has the essence of book Armand just as Sam has the essence of book Lestat, the looks are just an extra, but not the main point.

Does anyone think there are weird accounts dedicated only to ragebait here? I think they're real people and not bots, but like, sideblogs, burn accounts or something like that. They don't post as often, they have months of gaps between posts, they don't make original posts, but anytime you say something a little more socially-conscious and critical they come out of nowhere on your comments giving the most absurd answers... I've had, like, at least 5 of them here. Not to mention the troll(s) who spammed my inbox a short time ago.

I'm the one who's upset right now that there's no canonical book Armand in any of the film adaptations, even though there's already a wonderful two-season TV series starring a wonderful young Armand played by Assad Zaman. Well, yes, it's also completely non-canonical, but nevertheless it's beautiful.

And then I think about people from the nineties who hoped to see their Favorite character in the film adaptation of their Favorite novel, but they saw Antonio Banderos in an almost episodic role... That's really not cool.

then, of course, there was the queen of the damned, also with an amazing cast and Arman, who was more or less close to the canon, but that was much later, and there he was also not 1 in 1.

Why do you think Assad's Armand is non-canonical? What would make him canonical for you? Are there anyone you could see playing him too? Or someone that might not be able to play him now because they're dead/old, but you saw playing a character that reminded you of Armand in the past?
