Can You See It?
I'm so glad I've found a medication routine based on events and not time. I take my pain meds, vitamins, and indigestion meds right after my first meal of the day, I take my weed oil after the first or second meal of the day depending on how early or late it is or how much I need it, and I take my night meds right before I go to bed. it's made it so much easier to remember to take them regularly. if it was time based, it'd look more like "okay I have to take my meds at 12, but I might not have eaten by 12, so I have to make sure I eat right at 12. but I might not be hungry at 12, I might've already eaten at 10, I might be in the middle of an appointment at 12" and at that point I'm gonna have to wait to take them until after I've eaten anyway, and I might've forgotten by then.
i hate that I had the impression or expectation that things would get easier and better as I got older. i hate how wrong I was. what I've learnt is that there's just a lot of funding into youth mental health supports and none at all for when you're no longer considered a "youth". i thought the focus on youth mental health was to make up for the fact that there's more things set in place for adults and not kids. I was wrong. turns out as soon as you turn 25 you're on your own. I'm so pissed.
imagine you had a friend who constantly made jokes at the expense of something you loved. they're never funny, but they seem to expect you to laugh even though the punchline is just, "this thing you love sucks ass". it's not even really a joke, there's nothing funny about it, you can tell that they genuinely actually believe it. but they insist it's just a joke!
no matter what the situation is, they're always bringing the social interaction to a screeching halt with these jokes. nobody ever wants to participate in this joke with them. nobody agrees with the premise. nobody ever knows what to say afterwards, it's just an awkward moment and a subject change. but they just keep doing it.
you have to stop with the self-deprecatory "humor", it's not fun for anyone including you.
I'm finally fucking caught up on the hard launch podcast omg. I hadn't watched a new ep since February and they keep getting released so quickly and they kept piling up and overwhelming me. but I've been spending a lot of time stuck in bed recently and YouTube has gotten boring so I finally dedicated to catching up
i swear to god if anything or anyone wakes me up in the next 9 hours I'm gonna end up on the news
we owe literally no one more on this planet than the woman behind fantasy name generator

*hunched over clutching my stomach* I'm not sure naproxen is agreeing with me
okay so it's getting to the point where I'm debating hospital. but I know they're gonna make all my other flare ups worse. the beds will make me flare up, the bright lights and loud sound will worsen my migraine and overstimulate me, I won't be able to sleep which will worsen my symptoms, I'll have to talk to so so many people, I'll be by myself so I have to make sure I'm not being medically neglected. again. I wanna talk to someone but all they'll do is try to convince me to go to hospital and I'll have to convince them it won't help. it never helps. every time I've had episodes like this and gone to hospital they treat me like I shouldn't be there. ED nurses treat me like shit for showing up in debilitating pain. it's happened several times. I've been stranded far from my home at 3am at random hospitals several times coz they either wouldn't treat me or ran some tests and told me to go home. I cannot emphasise just how little hospital will fucking help me. i just don't wanna be alone
the pain is slowly but surely easing up, I am not going to hospital 🎉 I will not be trying naproxen again for a while omg. and if I do I'm gonna make sure I've JUST eaten

🚨BREAKING: OpenAI published a paper proving that ChatGPT will always make things up.
Not sometimes. Not until the next update. Always. They proved it with math.
Even with perfect training data and unlimited computing power, AI models will still confidently tell you things that are completely false. This isn't a bug they're working on. It's baked into how these systems work at a fundamental level.
And their own numbers are brutal. OpenAI's o1 reasoning model hallucinates 16% of the time. Their newer o3 model? 33%. Their newest o4-mini? 48%. Nearly half of what their most recent model tells you could be fabricated. The "smarter" models are actually getting worse at telling the truth.
Here's why it can't be fixed. Language models work by predicting the next word based on probability. When they hit something uncertain, they don't pause. They don't flag it. They guess. And they guess with complete confidence, because that's exactly what they were trained to do.
The researchers looked at the 10 biggest AI benchmarks used to measure how good these models are. 9 out of 10 give the same score for saying "I don't know" as for giving a completely wrong answer: zero points. The entire testing system literally punishes honesty and rewards guessing.
So the AI learned the optimal strategy: always guess. Never admit uncertainty. Sound confident even when you're making it up.
OpenAI's proposed fix? Have ChatGPT say "I don't know" when it's unsure. Their own math shows this would mean roughly 30% of your questions get no answer. Imagine asking ChatGPT something three times out of ten and getting "I'm not confident enough to respond." Users would leave overnight. So the fix exists, but it would kill the product.
This isn't just OpenAI's problem. DeepMind and Tsinghua University independently reached the same conclusion. Three of the world's top AI labs, working separately, all agree: this is permanent.
Every time ChatGPT gives you an answer, ask yourself: is this real, or is it just a confident guess?
BRING HIM BACK
oh thank goodness
