Vladimir is the end result of desperation and greed. The last living member of a long line of mages, tracing back to the ancient days before Noxus and Demacia. Many of their more talented family members were slain in the battle against the Darkin. As a result, their lineage became barren of magical talent. And in desperation, they turned to the black arts. During a time of turmoil and despair, they remained secretive; until they were conquered— not by force, but by diplomacy, by the cruel warlord Mordekaiser.

They served Mordekaiser willingly in his conquest, through their magic, Mordekaiser would never perish— and with each soul that they twisted and tormented, they grew more powerful still. In time, the consumption of souls would inevitably lead to their immortality. If they could no find such a thing in life, they would find it in undeath.

But, as nature would entail, no empire could last forever. Not even one founded in death— Mordekaiser was overthrown by those who he ruled over. Little Vladimir narrowly was able to escape the fate of his kin— he fled into the forest, never to be seen again.
