Thinking about Kalim again and his many experiences with kidnapping and how he knows poisons so well.
I know most of the time the focus on Kalim is based on his masked traits such as his sunshine personality and naïveté.
But I like to think of the more hidden aspect that isn't talked much about.
For someone who has gone through this horror constantly, he must have learned how to defend himself.
Must have learned to protect himself in one shape or another that doesn't include magic.
(Though the potential use of his um magic drowning those who captured him is always there)
Thinking about this, imagine him getting kidnapped with you in tow.
Jamil is either not around or disarmed and can't help.
You can't defense yourself either especially not when faced with so many enemies.
So when the enemies inevitably attacks or tries to take you?
That's when Kalim steps in.
His hands drips with blood from the dagger he wields. One that only Jamil knows he has and no one else.
A dagger he used since he was young even before he knew how to properly wield his magic.
He takes them out before help arrives (with the poison that's laced on the blade, they are not getting up).
His dance skills used for maneuverability and speed. Skills that were honed for more than those needed for parties.
It wasn't that Jamil was supposed to stop Kalim's kidnappings and poisonings, but so that Kalim's hands wouldn't be dripping red as often as it used to be.
