Anima and Animus — representation of VelvetPastry.
My thoughts on why the art is named "Anima and Animus":
Anima and Animus are the literal embodiment of ideological strife and the opposition between two entities: Pastry Cookie and Red Velvet Cookie. Red Velvet Cookie is the Animus, and Pastry Cookie is the Anima.
The core idea is that their conflict isn't just an ideological clash, but a collision of two complex concepts and priorities. The Animus strives for action and impulse, while the Anima is more passive, inclined to explore her inner world without letting it out. One could say that Red Velvet Cookie, representing the Animus in Jungian terms, is Logos directed outward. His energy is expansive: he builds a tower, creates an cake army, and reshapes the landscape to fit his needs. His "meaning" is the action that materializes internal chaos into structure.
Pastry Cookie, representing the Anima, is Eros and inward-facing reflection. Her tragedy lies in the fact that the Order forced her to imitate the Animus (to be a soldier, to take action), suppressing her true nature — contemplation and internal searching. Her conflict in the story is a painful transition from an imposed external function to the exploration of her "inner abyss."
This artwork depicts the phenomenon of Coniunctio, or the "sacred marriage," where the Anima and Animus cease their resistance and enter into syzygy.
There are many Jungian concepts here: archetypes and the state of Nigredo, which drips from their lips in the form of a black substance.
