My body is not a temple, closest thing it's that little all-faith prayer room that they've got at airports. Sure it's small and shitty and does not even compare to anything proper, but as it currently is the only option available, best just shrug and go "fuck it, that'll have to do."

it's good enrichment for The Character(s) when one of their friends gets possessed and they have to find some way to bring them back. great friendgroup bonding activity. especially if they have to do some exorcism bullshit and it's traumatizing for everyone involved and there's collapsing and sobbing afterward. great thing for The Character(s) to do. highly recommend.

Someone woke up and chose violence this morning.

I walked her to the pen like normal after the rain had died down, and she took one look at her wet penmates and decided to declare all out war. Just no hesitation, started kicking and biting and chasing and screaming at every other bird in the pen- INCLUDING Heather, of whom she is normally scared and will slink away from if Heather starts even just walking over.

Didn't matter!! Violence only!

I literally had to wade into the middle of her and Wendy repeatedly flogging each other to snatch Bug up like a football and haul her kicking and scolding me over to the sitting chair. She got a time out in my lap where I basically hooded her with my hands until she calmed down. She babies came and joined us and I stuck Princess under Bug's wing to remind her that she is a Mother, not a berserker trained for war.

And once she chilled out, she acted like it never happened. I checked on her the rest of the day after treating her neck and face for the scrapes Wendy inflicted, but they were all just chilling like flock mates again.

God forbid anyone be wet, I guess.

When visiting our friends in Minnesota we stopped by a Korean corndog place. For those unfamiliar they’re delightful. My favorite is a hot dog coated in rice flour and covered in potatoes before being deep fried. Some are covered in ramen or spicy Cheetos. There’s also mozzarella filled dogs. To my great disappointment this particular place didn’t have spicy mayo as a dipping sauce and I had to content myself with honey mustard.

I had noticed on the menu something called a “Choco-dog”.

“So that one’s filled with chocolate?” I asked my friend.

He shook his head, “I don’t know but that sounds disgusting.”

“Wait, what do you mean? It’s not like chocolate on a hot dog, I’m sure the filling is what’s chocolate.”

“I’ve never questioned it, but I think it’s chocolate and beef.”

I couldn’t tell at that point if he was teasing or not but I had to know. I got up and approached the counter, asking the young man behind it, “Excuse me. Is the choco dog chocolate around a hot dog, or just chocolate filling?”

His face crumpled in disgust and he shook his head, “No, it’s chocolate filling that we fry in the batter.”

I nodded my satisfaction and reported my findings to the table to our collective relief.

I think "fuck you, I hate your work and I will do it myself and I will do it better" is a really funny and epic sentiment. i started publishing poetry because an ex boyfriend of mine was publishing really ass poetry in a bunch of journals and I was like "Jesus christ, this is garbage, I could do that, and I could do it better." now I have a page in the Academy of American Poets and I've published a full length collection and his website says "former poet." You should win by succeeding way harder than they do. Spite is a legitimate energy source.
