me: ok but like what if he actually has floating hands and that's not just a game thing™. like the accident where he got his powers from utterly ruined his left arm so it had to be amputated, but he went on and found a fake/mechanical hand or something and just magically binds it to his body as a replacement. then later on as he gets more adept at magic and gets closer and closer to the mentality he has in the game, he just sees his floating hand, that has more reach and stuff, as more useful than his hand that's still connected to his body. so he just goes "heck it" and gets rid of his other arm and replaces his floating hand by making a new set of fake hands and binding them to his body. boom, useful floaty hands on both sides.
