kenma stares wide-eyed upon the sudden appearance of his friend bursting through his bedroom door, and he just sits there, as silent as the dead. it’s not until hinata begins to approach does he try to scoot away, tugging his blanket snug against his shaken frame. his fingers grasp tight and he bites his bottom lip when hinata asks the question he expects. he hates it, but he knows he only asks because he cares. even so, he hates it. he’s hungry, hungry, hungry! he’s hungry, and because of the starvation that blinds his senses, he knows he’s a danger to hinata. he’s scared!

when the area is announced clear, kenma quietly backs away from the individual to avoid getting too close ( and when he’s spoken to, he jumps, perhaps he's run into a shady person ).

the excitement that once corroded his veins had finally dissipated, drowsiness slowly settling within his system. at first, just a yawn; quickly brushed aside and forgotten as he seated himself beside his friend. auburn tinted eyes are captivated by the the rainbow of colours that are the constantly changing images and the allegro of the other’s movements. 

tap, tap, tap.— a noise that fills the room, perpetual, yet soothing ( perhaps, a little too soothing ). the land of dreams is waiting for him - after all, he’s just another yawn away. his eyes close once, only for them to snap open. they close again, and this time the setter’s words jerk him awake.

   “ mmm??– no … we still … have to play …

“  are you sure? you’re yawning a lot ...  ”  he states, and the pace of his fingers slows with his words as he spares a small glance at hinata.  “  uhm, you must be pretty bored, too .. sorry.  ”  occasionally, his eyes flicker between the small screen and his drowsy friend, and it’s not until a short moment after he becomes distracted again, does he finally pause his game.

shifting in his spot, kenma turns to face hinata,  “  you can nap for a while, if you want.  ”  before he sinks back against his bedroom wall and resumes his game, lips pursed together. perhaps he really is a boring friend, as he’s unable to offer his company his utmost attention( but, from what he’s gathered about hinata is that he doesn’t seem to mind his silence ).

SYMPATHY BECOMES HER, a kindled hearth of warm intentions nestled between her ribs. before taking a seat alongside kenma, she makes sure to firmly shut the door behind her, if only to minimize the raucous noise behind them. although well-familiar with the karasuno vbc’s homely antics, to add fukurōdani and nekoma’s captains into the mix was an unwanted recipe for pure pandemonium.

“  uh .. yeah, i guess so.  ”  he nods in quiet response to the delicate melody of her voice and his heart jumps to an anxious rhythm ( thump thump thump!! ). pressing his lips together, kenma begins to fiddle with his cellphone and his thumbs circle the touchscreen ( he made sure to lock it, as having someone watch him was definitely not good for him ).
