This is something that has been asked me a lot over the years, and I finally sat down for a few hours to make this happen. This is a list of music, books, TV shows, films, cosmetics, clothing & accessories, and blogs/YouTubers that I recommend for gothy folk. Some of the titles feature violence, gore, nudity and other controversial/possibly triggering elements, so if that worries you, please be aware of this and possibly find out a little bit about the thing in question before proceeding to listen/watch/read them. Same goes for any of the cosmetics mentioned, if you have special requirements or concerns, please find out information about the company and their products before using them.
If the title is in italics it means that I have yet to see/read/use it myself but I know many people in the subculture like it. This is in now way an exhaustive list and I have left out some of my mainstream favourites, and will add to the list as I come up with more titles.

For the most exhaustive list full of recommendations take a look at this Spotify playlist that contains approx. 4000 goth-y songs (and the like). Most of the songs are from Spotify’s server (and not my local files) so you should be able to listen to them as long as the songs are available in your country.

My personal advice is thrift stores, flea markets, eBay, recycling centres, DIY, and hoard anything your relatives and friends don’t want anymore! I can also recommend New Rocks shoes. They’re expensive but last for ages and there are many sold as second hand online.
