How do Fangbeak's antennae work

they're like floating wispy ribbons, they wave slightly (not unlike smoke) and their ends change shape according to Fangbeak's emotions. angry? spiky. relaxed? spiral. happy? heart-shaped. sad? droopy/heavy. they're also not physically attached to its head, they're made of magic or something similar, but you can still tug on the and the head will follow after them (don't do this tho, that's very rude). you can touch them, they feel velvety and a bit tingly
