Remember guys most tvd fans dont disagree with Julie’s writing per se. They dislike she didn’t give them their endgames (Klaroline and Stelena). They eat up every other narrative that show puts out, especially when it comes to Bonnie!

the fact that it is so hard to be friends with Elena stans as a Bonnie stan
and yes, it's obviously not every Elena stan. but holy shit some of y'all are some of the most toxic people in this fandom. every time somebody brings up how horribly Bonnie was treated, y'all immediately start acting like people are blaming Elena. bitch, are you joking? nobody said Elena Gilbert personally walked into the writers' room and decided Bonnie deserved less storylines, less romance, less focus, and less care. that's not the fucking point.
the point is that some of y'all cannot handle any conversation about Bonnie without turning it into "well Elena was sad too!!!" okay? and? Bonnie was sad too. Caroline was sad too. literally everybody on this show was traumatized. but somehow every discussion circles back to Elena being a poor sad girl who never asked for any of it, while Bonnie apparently chose to be the group's magical slave every season.
and that's why I get annoyed when people act like Elena had nothing to do with the racist writing. she benefited from it. the show was constantly asking Bonnie to suffer for Elena, save Elena, protect Elena, die for Elena, and put Elena first. meanwhile Bonnie rarely got the same level of care, focus, or narrative importance in return. the writing constantly prioritized Elena over Bonnie, and acting like those things are completely unrelated is ridiculous. and what really gets me is that some Elena stans will acknowledge every single problem in this show except racism. somehow everything has an explanation except the black female lead constantly getting sidelined, traumatized, killed off, and denied the same opportunities as everyone else. y'all will bend yourselves into pretzels before admitting that maybe, just maybe, there was a racial element to how Bonnie was written.
and don't even get me started on Elena stans and Bonnie ships. because suddenly the same people who are always screaming about how Elena deserves empathy become completely irrational the second Bamon is mentioned. they'll argue me down for hours about why Beremy and Bonenzo are the only ships that ever made sense for Bonnie. but mention Bamon and everybody goes fucking crazy. at that point it stops feeling like concern for Bonnie's character and starts feeling like y'all just don't want Damon anywhere near another woman.
y'all expect everybody to care about Elena's trauma, Elena's grief, Elena's relationships, Elena's feelings. but when Bonnie fans want the same level of care and respect for Bonnie, suddenly we're asking for too much. that's why Bonnie fans don't care about your opinions on Bonnie half the time. because you won't even give Bonnie the same grace, sympathy, or attention that you give the white characters.
and stop tagging your bullshit takes with Bonnie Bennett. I don't want to see them. if your entire post is about why Bonnie fans are wrong for being upset about how she was treated, keep that shit out of her tag.
I made an anti-Klaroline post, tagged it as anti immediately, and some Klaroline fans came into the comments telling me I shouldn't mention Klaroline at all. My response is basically: I tagged it as anti. If you don't want to see anti-Klaroline content, block the anti tag and move on. It's not difficult. Anyway, here are some more reasons I think Klaus's story would have worked better with Bonnie
Bonnie already had direct conflict with Klaus before any romance would even be considered. Their dynamic starts from a place of genuine opposition. That gives a relationship somewhere to grow instead of starting with attraction and building backward.
Bonnie consistently challenged powerful men. She challenged Damon, Kai, Elijah, Klaus, everyone. Klaus respected strength, determination, and intelligence. Bonnie had all three.
Both characters carried enormous burdens for the people they loved. Klaus's actions were often driven by family. Bonnie repeatedly sacrificed herself for friends and loved ones. They understood responsibility in a way many other characters didn't.
Bonnie had a darkness and ruthlessness that the show rarely explored fully. When pushed far enough, she was willing to make difficult choices. Klaus would recognize that side of her immediately because he had it too.
A Klaus and Bonnie relationship could have connected the magical mythology much more deeply. Bonnie was one of the franchise's most important witches. Klaus was the Original Hybrid. Their stories naturally intersected through the supernatural world.
Bonnie had a habit of seeing through people's excuses. Klaus spent centuries manipulating others. Watching him try to earn trust from someone who couldn't be charmed easily could have been a compelling long-term arc.
Unlike many of Klaus's relationships, Bonnie represented something he couldn't simply take. He couldn't compel her. He couldn't intimidate her into loyalty. He would actually have to change and prove himself.
Narratively, Bonnie was often positioned as the protector of Mystic Falls. Klaus was one of its greatest threats. Turning enemies into reluctant allies and eventually something more provides a stronger foundation for development than immediate attraction.
Bonnie also had chemistry with morally gray and villainous characters throughout the series. Fans still discuss her dynamics with characters like Kai Parker, Kol Mikaelson, and Damon Salvatore because those relationships created tension, conflict, and growth opportunities. Klaus fits naturally into that pattern.
happy pride to our two bisexual yearners…
Was just thinking about how they didn’t really have Rebekah interact with Bonnie the way she did with Caroline and Elena. The envy Rebekah had for Caroline and Elena, the bitchy back and forth… there are people who ship Elena and Rebekah because of this tension! It was all very high school but the point is that Bonnie wasn’t really included.
Not saying she should have had a similar dynamic with Rebekah, but it’s just another way they left Bonnie out as a regular teenage girl. Sure, the ire was coming from a 1000+ year old but yeah.

louis' narration: it was dusk. the smell of petrichor still lingered in the air, greeting me as i woke and pondered my new existence as a vampire, a creature of the night. as the sun set and gave way to new darkness, so too had something awakened in me, a bloodlust that could not be sated. was i now man or monster? or something in between, a perversion of even the natural order in which all other beings reside?
lestat's narration: yeah so i drained someone at my concert and almost overdosed on LSD and MDMA but that's just another tuesday amirite? so i fucked her in the elevator and killed a bunch of vampires with daniel (ugh, i hate him though what a loser 🙄) i wish louis still loved me

Don’t care that Bonnie fans only center Bonnie’s feelings in fics so Elena’s and Caroline’s end up getting ignored. Like I rly dont care. Bonnie owes them nothing actually!
