A resident of Hamnavoe, Shetland Islands in Scotland, Anne Eunson decided to knit herself a beautiful lace fence using twine. The fence is fashioned from strong black twine - the same kind that is used to make fishing nets - and Anne knitted it on specially adapted curtain rods. It took her about three weeks to knit enough lace to surround her front garden, using a 23 stitch repeat of a familiar Shetland lace pattern.

I do say, this is perhaps the most unsafe happenstance in a work setting I've ever seen.
It's certainly the most impressive malfunction I've ever come across.
So I looked it up because I couldn't find an explanation in the notes.
This is called cobbling. In these instances, the steel is being shaped by a succession of high-speed rollers as it goes down the line. This is what happens when the steel doesn't get from one set of rollers to the next, for whatever reason. It jams and the rollers behind it keep feeding, so you get these crazy loops/jets of red hot metal.
I used to work in HVAC fabrication, so I've seen stuff like this happen with like... room temperature metal, which is dangerous enough. But here, since the metal is so soft, it's got a lot more ways to derail itself, so to speak. Also, it's really hot. So it like burns people and starts fires and stuff too.
Having worked with these kinds of machines before, I will say that they are supposed to have a failsafe that will shear the metal to prevent what's depicted in this video from happening, but obviously that isn't always the case.
Steel mill workers should all make like $50 an hour minimum lol

I can’t get over “and comes fucks me”.
This video ruined all those aesthetic photos of fog for me. I can’t see a foggy landscape without this video playing in my head.

I love the idea of Danny outliving his loved ones, especially if they die protecting him :))) I've had a sketch of Danny holding glowing flowers for years but never had the motivation to do anything with it. Og sketch and alternate version under the cut:
You watch old cartoons for your entire life and you think vegetables getting pulled underground in front of some farmer is just some exaggerated thing they made up...
