Vince gets it, he really does
I love him
Dudes. Rock.
*80s guitar riff*
I’m sure smarter people have already talked about it but I find manousos wanting to pay everyone back so… good? beautiful? heartwarming? it’s like this one repeated action - leaving money behind, making sure he will be able to repay it later on, leaving his contact info - holds his whole hope in itself. this man believes. that there will be people to pay back later. that he will be there to do it himself and not as a part of the hive. that there is still place for decency and social conventions and keeping the world as it was before, one bill behind the windshield at the time.
The hivemind could tell Carol that Manousos is on his way. But they don't. They won't.
They must see those two working together as a threat to their existence, despite Carol mellowing, and they'd be right.
wild how overtly evil hive is, and people missed it for many episodes
manousos was so desperate to pay his eight thousand dollar hospital bill sgshdhdhdjfkfk his stubbornness knows no bounds i love him so much
dudes have never rocked harder
the guy is my hero
Now that we have seen Manousos be even more against the hivemind than Carol is can we start digging into the real motivations behind all the other survivors attitudes towards The Others instead of pretending that the only reasons are they’re from the Global South and Carol is from the United States? Cause Paraguay is a collectivist culture.
That defense of the hive always seemed the most hollow, glad that the show is directly undercutting it
They tortured her. They left Carol in complete isolation for weeks, and for what? Because their feelings were hurt? To prove a point? To make her finally love them? They tortured her and they have the gall to smile. And they tortured Manousos too. For as much as his stubbornness landed him in the position he found himself in, it was also the hivemind. They made him need them too. They warned him, yes, but what is the point of a warning they knew he wouldn’t heed? They could have told Carol. They could’ve contacted the one fucking person Manousos would’ve listened to, but instead they let him walk into the wilderness until he had to accept their help, had to need them just like they made Carol need them. It’s not pacifism, not really. It’s the slow starvation of the human race masquerading as salvation. The hivemind is a cancer, spreading and spreading and spreading until it kills the host. Carol and Manousos are just two more organs to colonize and kill
Carol brings home an attractive flower that is poisonous. First as a painting, and then as a person. She embraces it.
Meanwhile Manousos falls backwards into bacteria covered flora. Two types of hugs.
Love that Vince is very clear how evil the hive is with pirate lady
Literally torturing carol until she starts begging for their lifeline
We can take you anywhere you want to go. How about New Mexico? Isn't that where you're going? To visit Carol Sturka? We could get you there by nightfall. We can even transport your car. We know how much it means to you.
have dudes ever rocked harder?
manousos being so obviously christian, and also genuinely good, is great; and a somewhat welcome change from most tv these days
I think the only misstep so far in Pluribus is the other survivor's lack of reaction to the hive eating the dead. A couple of weeks ago many people online were making a big deal of other survivors not being down with yank views on individuality, so are more accepting of the Hive. So how does that square with them being apparently cool with the hive harvesting and consuming the dead exactly?
Also, we can all probably see, as this food crisis worsens the Hive is going to start culling the less efficient (weaker) bodies from itself, and I do wonder if open/enforced eugenics will be the trigger for other survivors to wake up to the horror around them. I feel that setting the bar that low for them would also be another misstep
"they're just looking for a change of heart"
"fuck 'em"
Carol refusing to surrender her entire (correct) moral framework to pull herself out of a pit of loneliness/depression is truly heroic
that John Cena video was one of the most evil things I've ever seen
and once again Vince, the goat, presented it so comedically
have dudes ever rocked harder than Manousos? Signs point to no
