Hundreds of pink yoga mats getting set up for early morning yoga class in Bryant Park, just around the corner from Neon. Not a bad way to start the day!Â
A warm Neon welcome to our new team member!
Nicole’s M&M cake, which just happens to be decorated in Neon colors!
A new Neon mystery is afoot! This mysterious bottle and letter appeared on our technology director's desk yesterday. Upon quick inspection the bottle turns out to be not a bottle but a bottle-shaped box, with hinges on the back and sealed on the front with a sticker bearing an image of some sort of handle wrapped in rope. The bottle/box is lightweight and feels empty; nothing moves inside when it's handled.
Read the letter -- what do you think? For now we're sitting tight and pondering the details in the letter before making a move.
SPOILERS: Don't read any further if you want to try to solve this for yourself! The name "H. Carter" refers to Howard Carter, the English archaeologist who discovered the tomb of the Pharaoh Tutankhamun, aka King Tut. The image on the sticker is the seal on the tomb's door; this was easy to confirm with a Google image search. The line down the middle of the sticker, where the doors of the tomb meet, runs perfectly along the vertical seam in the bottle where it opens.
It's very tempting to simply slice open the sticker and open the bottle, but the letter cautions the reader to "investigate thoroughly before you take action" and warns against "rash actions."
Is the end goal of this mystery the contents of the bottle? Or is this just the first clue of many? Is Neon's ClueMaster up to his or her old tricks again, or has a new enigmatic tormenter thrown his or her hat into the ring? Stay tuned to find out!
