We need help now more than ever

So I’m sure by now you guys are tired of me posting that my wife and I need help, but the seriousness factor just increased a lot. My wife’s grandfather has just been diagnosed with cancer, and his doctor doesn’t think he’s well enough to handle treatment. Basically, we need major help for the upcoming medical bills, and even help for a possible place to stay once everything finally goes down.

I’m not really sure what else there is for me to say other than any help, including reblogs, is be greatly appreciated. I can edit this post later with my Kofi link and all once I manage to edit it. Please know any and all donations will be going towards the necessities mentioned in this post. Thank you.

Update:

It’s 3:30 am, 5/18/18 and we are currently in the er with her grandfather. He fell at home and we’re thinking he had a stroke. The doctors are telling us he needs to go to New Orleans to be seen by a neurologist, so he’ll be transported by ambulance hopefully soon. Please, guys, we need help. At the very least, reblog this so it gets seen.

May 18th, 2018, 13:03

My wife’s grandfather is currently in a hospital in New Orleans. The doctors confirmed that he had a stroke last night which caused his fall and subsequent brain damage. Unfortunately, he also has a very serious infection in his brain, making it near impossible for him to breathe manually. He’s going to be put on a respirator if he agrees to it (which is highly unlikely) but the doctors have said he most likely won’t be coming home.

My wife and I are going to be on our way to the hospital he’s in shortly thanks to one of her cousins finding us a ride there. I’m not usually the type to be spiritual, but please pray for us/keep us in your thoughts for the next few weeks, as this will be very difficult for both of us.

I’m extremely sorry for all of the grim posts here lately, but I appreciate all of the support we’ve been given so far. I will almost surely be absent from Tumblr for at the very least a day or so in order for my wife and I to pack our things so that we can move back with my mother, closer to northern Louisiana. I will still have access to my messages and @s, so please do not hesitate to contact me if you or someone you know has advice or words of encouragement for us.

Botany and Cool Shit: Trachyandra 

No, you’re not in the Celtic Otherworld, the Emerald Dream, or Wonderland. These little shits actually exist!

The genus Trachyandra is native to Eastern, Southern, and Southeastern Africa as well as Madagascar and up to Yemen. Their “weed smoke drifting in the breeze” appearance is an adaptation to the hot, dry regions they call home. 

Many species are propagated and sold as houseplants, but it’s still a pretty rare find in US markets.
