I’m not sure why I thought of this now because this happened years ago now, but to the guy I knew who I thought was my friend in grad school— who found my tumblr account, followed me, unfollowed me, and made me feel ashamed (for a couple of weeks) about who I am/was, and then proceeded to forget that I existed until I got out of PhD hell— fuck you. Fuck YOU. I let myself feel ashamed of myself too many times in my life because shitheads thought I was “weird” and “nerdy.” And then, just when I was feeling confident in myself, you tore that wound open again when I was 28. And it took me WAY too long to get over that again. In those weeks, I was a 13 year old girl again, wondering why I didn’t feel like I belonged anywhere, and it was horrible.
Now that I’m off my SSRIs (5 months now), it’s easier for me to feel bad about myself again. I’ve been masochistic for a long time, so I’m still working on it. And something that helps is me thinking about all these people from my past that affected me in this way…and guess what? They’re all fucking losers. And cowards. And *gasp, because I hate using this word* pussies. I hate the way they made me feel, because it amplified every horrible, awful thing I have ever told myself.
So fuck you all (IRL bullies only, no worries guys lol) for making me feel this way my entire life. And I don’t apologize for saying that.
