Vomiting is a mechanism our body developed to protect us. It can definitely be the difference between life and death. Almost everyone on earth has puked at least once in their life. Everyone has experienced that feeling of loosing control of your body, and no matter how hard you try to avoid puking, if your body really needs to empty the stomach, it will do it.
Everyday we wake up without knowing if we’ll puke or not on that day. When the body is working correctly and everything is in order, nobody thinks about throwing up. But this can suddenly change. Is difficult to explain when begins nausea. It’s something that appears from one second to another. And yes, you’ve felt that sensation before. That growing discomfort that can last seconds, minutes or even several hours. The stomach feels weird, and that sensation migrates to other parts of the body. First, it covers your whole abdomen, and it goes upwards to your chest, and throat. Sweating begins. Anxiety increases. Several things pass through your mind. But at first, you try to control the increasing nausea. You close your eyes and take deep breaths. Then, you stop doing whatever you were doing. You try to rest. But if all this fails, you acknowledge the high probabilities of throwing up.
Perceiving an important increase of saliva production, is the next step. The moment when you realize that your body has taken a decision. Resisting is only going to make things worse. When you swallow the saliva, you notice it has a different taste. No matter how often you swallow, you’ll always have saliva on your mouth. In fact, swallowing that weird saliva, usually increases the nausea.
Time becomes an enemy if you haven’t found yet a proper destiny for your stomach contents. At that point, if you aren’t in front of a toilet or sink, everything is going to look as a good alternative. Buckets, trash cans, plastic bags, and so many other stuff. Desperation is now involved.
Then, the intelligent people give total control to their body and submit. Fool people keep trying to fight their body’s will.
Nausea is now at its highest point. The stomach hurts badly, and its contractions can be felt. Distance between the lips increases in order to provide an exit to the gastric contents. First, saliva slides downwards. Then, a medium contraction occurs and you feel several bubbles traveling through your throat. Those bubbles will come out of your body as a little burp. Deep and slow breathing is what follows. We involuntarily do it. Few seconds later, a small gag comes out with a dry heave. Again breathing, is the next step. Then, the belly button moves towards our backbones, as if these ones were sucking it. The consequence of this strong abdominal contraction is the ejection of the food that never became poop. After this first wave, most of the fools who were trying to avoid puking, finally quit, and give total control to their bodies. Submission appears, and the body keeps doing its work.
Yes, you’ve gone through this before. Being knelt in front of the toilet, taking a deep breath to recover from that first wave. Your mouth is detecting the characteristic puke’s flavor. Your eyes watching how the transparent toilet’s water changes its color and mixes with your ex stomach contents. Saliva amounts increase again. Some people collect that saliva with an arousing ability, and then, spit it inside the toilet. Others, just keep their mouth opened using gravity as a ally to reduce the big saliva amounts inside the mouth. Again, deep breaths, until suddenly, one of your them is interrupted by a new painful contraction. Again, total submission. The mouth is fulfilled by that warm liquid coming from your stomach and then pours it into the toilet. While this process is taking place, you feel how your intracranial pressure increases also. All your senses send signals to your brain again. The ears detect the sound of puke crashing against the water inside the toilet, and also your noisy gagging. Your mouth is again perceiving the bittersweet taste, and is still with lots of saliva. Your eyes focus on the toilet’s inside. You can perfectly identify most of the puke components. That food that hours before was chewed and swallowed. When you take the following breath, your nose detects that stinky smell and it confirms your current submission state.
Third wave on its way to the outside. This waves have less content, but more power and violence. While this wave is traveling through your esophagus, you can fill the shaking chills on your backbone and the enormous pressure inside your abdomen and head. Some times, you can also feel your eyes as if they were coming out of your head with the wave. Less than a second later, you mouth receives more liquid, but this time, you also feel your nose weird at first. The wave finally comes to an end, and your nose is itching. The smell seems to have increased. But then, a weird palate pain begins. This is the moment when you realized that your nose was also an exit for your processed food and liquids. Suddenly, you see a threat of mucus, saliva and puke growing downwards. You exhale strongly through the nose trying to get rid of that thread, but you fail. After repeating the process and having the same result, you decide to use your fingers as a scissor, but as soon as you touch that thread, it sticks to your fingers. While you’re trying to put that thread inside the toilet, a next wave interrupts you. Then, your stomach keeps pouring into the toilet as many liquid as it needs to. The last contractions are normally the strongest ones because pressure inside the stomach decreases as it has less liquid than before puking the first wave. This, added to the abdominal muscles’ fatigue, creates very painful contractions at the end.
Finally, your stomach is calm, and your nausea has decreased a lot. Your body comes to a calm state. Same state that your sleepy and hanging penis or boobs (depending on your sex) were having while your stomach and upper gastrointestinal tract were suffering and having a bad time.
At that point, you might think your submission is over, but you can never be sure at all.
