being in the 1% of bg3 fans who isn't crazy about astarion is hell bc the character that he is, canonically, as presented in the game, is SO fucking fun and interesting and complex and i enjoy him greatly. but then i remember how most ppl tend to love him for completely different reasons than i do or just blatantly mischaracterize him to make him more appealing and even steal aspects from other characters' established personalities to slap onto him instead and how the game itself + larian's marketing team have consistently been too busy riding his dick to give the other characters the level of attention they deserve and i actually have to try really really really hard to not be a bigger hater
