so context, i was an extremely sheltered and an not-devout-but-slightly-strict-christian child so growing up i didnt have a lot of exposure to... nudity and intimacy

it was a scary concept to me

i dont know how to go about this, does anyone have any advice on how to overcome this or even their process?? help??

like its not even just plain bodies, seeing intimacy in media like books or tc or even music gives me a reaction that can range from calm and cool about to having some kind of panic attack basically:

like STOP GIVING ME A FUCKING FLIGHT OR FIGHT RESPONSE EVERYTIME I SEE A DAMN PAIR OF TATAS OR SOMETHING!! Like its actually putting me in distress. i feel like a fucking puritan seeing a shoulder for the first time.

Is there something im missing? am i overreacting? going about this the wrong way?? I dont expect a whole lot of response to this but i was just wondering if anyone had any advice because i need it...

more mermay au and for those who noticed it in the last post, i made the brothers selkies because ive been on a weird seal obsession lately lol

I think for the au theyd be part of a sea monster hunting crew (paralelling the witch hunter thing). Caleb basically encourages Philip to use their pelts as little as possible to avoid be seen so they both are really depressed and cranky from not being in the sea for a while.

Caleb, with help from a sweet mermaid he saved from his own crew's slaughter, learns to kinda embrace and not be ashamed of his selkie side, spending more time in the sea and learning everything theyve been taught about sea-monsters and such was a lie. Evelyn also tries to get a taste of Caleb's human life, trying her best to follow him onto land, which more often than not ends up with Caleb stressing over if she'll be seen

Philip is taught to fight his selkie impulse to go to the sea so when he finds Caleb leaning into it, along with being around Evelyn, he assumes his brother is being led astray by both the pelt, the mermaid, and the sea, from which he begins he path as a devouted sea-monster hunter, and burns his seal pelt, forever trapping himself in human form.

But anyways, more later, hope you guys like this idea it was fun to come up with 🦭🩵🩵

I love the way you depict Caleb and Evelyn so much, so now I’m wondering what your thoughts are on their story in general? Especially stuff like their meeting :3 the sillies

theres a lot of different ways I could go with how they meet. Im kinda torn between whether Caleb knew she was a witch from the moment they met or maybe a little after. From what little Dana has told us about Evelyn (dana pls feed us im begging), for whatever reason, Evelyn found Caleb way more nicer and approachable than alot of the other humans, which led her to taking him to the demon realm.

I like to think Caleb was in a rough state before he met Eve (being a poor puritan orphan SUCKS) and Evelyn saw him was like, 'oh this cute/pathetic looking man likes birds too... maybe he's nice (and needs a hug good titan)'

I do also like the idea of Flapjack being the one to bring them together somehow. He is their son after all and no one can tell me otherwise.

and although Caleb tries to push her away at first, he quickly finds her companionship to bring him some happiness and spends more time with her. He gets to be more loose, whimsical, and relaxed around her, not worrying about being judged for it. He eventually agreeing to take a leap of faith and go to the demon realm with her. From there I think they go on little adventures and dates both in the demon realm and human realm, Evelyn showing him things from her world like magic, monsters, festivals, while Caleb shows her things from his world like apples, dandelions, and possoms. And ofcourse any all birds they find. The clawthorne family has to get their bird loving trait somewhere and I think I know where.

THeres obviously more I could get into but i pray one day the stars will aline and Dana (or one of the owlcrew) will drop something of them. (EVen just a design for EVelyn PLEASE WE LITERALLY ONLY HAVE A SILOUHETTE TO GO OFF OF!!!)

i really love fable and oaklyn! what’s their lore… their personalities and character dynamics… i’m so interested!!

As for their lore, obviously it was a little hard growing up in the demon realm as half-human. Not only did they have poor digestive systems, but they were also a little lacking in the magic department, atleast when they were younger.

the healers assumed their bile sacs were too small/deformed to be able to produce magic but to everyones suprise, Oaklyn seemed to show signs of having atleast a little magic. Fable was happy for him but secretly envious since she didnt have any magic at all, so it seemed.

Even so it would take a long time before Oaklyn could be able to produce magic at a decent level, which led them to being made fun of by a lot of their peers. Oaklyn was very shy and quiet as a kid and didnt quite stick up for himself... his sister was quite the contrary.

Fable was fiery, loud and sassy (a mixture of traits from both her parents) and didn't hesistant to bite the bullies when Evelyn wasnt looking.

She was sneaky and good liar, just like her parents were, which often led to her being quite rebellious in her teen years. It especially lands her in some trouble when she meets an odd masked man who offers to teach her some magic for magicless witches... (but ill have to share that story in another post ;) )

But Fable eventually finds solace in continuing her father's love of carving and being the one to teach it to the generations to come. Not to mention palisman wielding allows for some magic of her own. ANd Oaklyn comes out of his shell and learns his love for nature and plants, becoming an apple blood farmer. (I headcannon Caleb brought apples to the boiling isles so this is a little fun nod) Oaklyn is also the one to continue the bloodline, giving Evie and Leb three granchildren.
