Made it in time! Happy 5th Anniversary Hades game!
I'm very addicted
Once again you enabled me, so here goes!
We all know about this dossier thing, right?
(I stole this screenshot from @hallabun, thank you!)
Let's examine the first sentence on this screenshot.
"The unit was formed as an ad-hoc disciplinary detail for biotics with below average service records."
Now let me translate this nonsense.
The term "detail" means that this squad was not intended to be permanent. A detail is a temporary group with a specific task that ends when the task is complete. So this squad was intended for one maybe two ground operations, and the term 'ad hoc' further confirms this. They were supposed to carry out a specific task and nothing else.
Disciplinary" means these guys and gals violated some regulations and are now being disciplined by being placed in this temporary group.
The fact that all of them have below-average service records means that they either misbehaved a lot or were generally bad at their jobs.
So basically, Kaidan was given a "shit squad" that was supposed to be deployed once or twice and fail spectacularly. But what happened instead was that they didn't just succeed—they were incredibly successful! So they were deployed again and again and again until they were upgraded to a permanent unit and then expanded into a whole-ass company! Over 100 soldiers, with now-Major Alenko in charge!
I have a post somewhere that talks about how the Alliance was very happy to sweep Shepard and the deceased members of the Normandy crew under the rug because they didn't want someone as notable as the Savior of the Citadel spreading conspiracy theories about a giant sentient machine invasion. And this is what they did to the surviving members of Shepard's crew.
Since Kaidan was third in the chain of command on board, he was probably blamed for the loss of life and reprimanded in this way. This ad hoc detail was supposed to be a career-crushing event, but he turned it around completely, and we should respect him so much more for it.
Thaks for coming to my TED talk.
decentralize and clean up your life!!!
use overdrive, libby, hoopla, cloudlibrary, and kanopy instead of amazon and audible.
use firefox instead of chrome or opera (both are made with chromium, which blocks functionality for ad-blockers. firefox isn't based on chromium).
use mega or proton drive instead of google drive.
get rid of bloatware
use libreoffice instead of microsoft office suite
use vetted sites on r/FREEMEDIAHECKYEAH for free movies, books, games, etc.
use trakt or letterboxd instead of imdb.

use mediahuman or cobalt to download music, or support your favorite artists directly through bandcamp
make youtube bearable by using mtube, newpipe, or the unhook extension on chrome, firefox, or microsoft edge
use search for a cause or ecosia to support the environment instead of google
use thriftbooks to buy new or used books (they also have manga, textbooks, home goods, CDs, DVDs, and blurays)
use flashpoint to play archived online flash games
find books, movies, games, etc. on the internet archive! for starters, here's a bunch of David Attenborough documentaries and all of the Animorphs books
burn your music onto cds
use pdf24 (available online or as a desktop app) instead of adobe
use unroll.me to clean your email inboxes
use thunderbird, mailfence, countermail, edison mail, tuta, or proton mail instead of gmail
remove bloatware on windows PC, macOS, and iOS X
remove bloatware on samsung X
use pixelfed instead of instagram or meta
use NCH suite for free software like a file converter, image editor, video editors, pdf editor, etc.
feel free to add more alternatives, resources or advice in the reblogs or replies, and i'll add them to the main post <3

EASE OFF Leftovers sale (finally!!!) -- Sat. June 21, 4pm PDT
hello friends ~
wow this June year has been a doozy, huh? so many things in the world + the shop system have changed since last year (💀) but I'm finally ready to put the leftover copies of Ease Off back on the shop!!
The leftover listings will go live on:
Saturday, June 21 2025 at 4pm PDT (UTC/GMT -7 hrs) at magusculpa.bigcartel.com
Some Thots to Note:
B-grade and lower-grade copies are available! Printing can be a nightmare! but it can be a boon sometimes!!
Prints are limited to the first ~10 orders. Most orders should come with stickers but I can't guarantee it 😭
There's no other books besides what's listed on the site (unless I find some lying around later, I hope note). I may print again somewhere else in the far future, but I've no concrete plans now
Hopefully any questions y'all would have are answered on the shop site somewhere...!! I'll try to post another update before I make the listings live. I need to take inventory one more time....
Ty as always for ur support, hoping to give these books a good home!!!

“Did you know that kissing is good for you?” Buck asks the question out of absolutely nowhere, and Eddie blinks as he tries to process the words. To be fair, it’s not even eight in the morning — on their day off, after Eddie’s night on the couch — and Eddie’s yet to have the coffee that typically kicks his brain into action. Also, what? “Buck,” he says, rubbing at his eyes. “What?” Or: Eddie and Buck start platonically kissing.

It's sooo good omg
Buck’s in love with him.
Buck.
Evan Buckley.
Eddie’s best friend.
Is in love with him.
Eddie… didn’t realise that that was allowed.
I don't want to look to closely why but Eddie not knowing that that was allowed hit me sooo hard. 😭
