Author's Note: This comic contains dark themes. However, I will use these with intention, not gratuitously, and not without careful measure.

We will not be dwelling on the dark and miserable merely for the sake of it. This is not a story about celebrating the dark. It is about someone stepping into the light.

Additionally, there are many stories to tell, but for some, we will let Nerys keep her privacy. The tears of a hungry child, her cries when her hair is forcibly cut—these distressing scenes need not be shown.

In the end, I tell this story in order that we may reflect on our condition; on our collective human experiences and struggles. I hope you will reflect with me.
