Rakheshi was born to a pretty average mom. However, she's still a TeleKin, and with her son being a TeleKin as well, it granted him easier access into the military. From there though, he did work hard to rise up in rank to become a general.
Drelan hitched a ride illegally to get to the Main World, and had someone forge his data records for him. In return, he fixes that man's ship at a discount price. Still, he had to buy his own shop and apartment, had to invest and create a name for himself in the ghettos of the Main World. He gets by pretty well, nowadays.
It helps that he will literally work with an anonymous customer, and has a "I won't ask, I'll have nothing to tell" policy, where he tries to know as little as possible about his customer as he finishes a job for them. That's only if the customer prefers anonymity, though. However, if the customer prefers to give information about themselves to Drelan, he's allowed to give that information to others. (Unless you form a strong bond with him, I think...)
Slovir is also a Psychic, though weakly so. His sister insisted that a TeleKin take him away from their servitude contract (basically slavery), when a TeleKin showed up. She's not Psychic though, so the TeleKin couldn't take her away to safety. Slovir grows up with the TeleKins, and that itself is an advantage.
She was found to be Psychic in her childhood, and underwent the regular classes that Psychics went through. Legally, people can only join the TeleKins at legal age, but she still went to classes specifically for the TeleKin forces.
She was born to a prestigious family, and since she's also Psychic, she basically has it made. Still, she has an adventurous/archaeological side, so she does leave the comfort of home to do archaeological work.
Narisaad, Rakheshi's mom, was found to be Psychic at a later date than what is recommended. As such, her Psychic abilities are less refined, rawer. Because of that, people try to keep away from her, but she still pushes through and get the job done.
