My PRO Toxic Mileven Manifesto:
To me, Mike and El are the couple that shouldn’t have stayed together as long as they have, high school/childhood sweethearts who are so codependent that they stay together forever, even if they don’t love each other any more (if they ever loved each other like that), the future toxic married couple that should’ve gotten divorced thrice over by now, who shouldn’t have been married in the first place. They don’t even mean to hurt each other, they DO care about each other, but being together makes them try to be someone they aren’t bc it’s what they think the other wants, they’ve grown as people since they first got together and it’s in a way that’s opposed to how the other has grown but they still cling to each other, cling to the memories of What Things Used To Be Like. They hold onto their love for each other and their nostalgia for their past and Still keep hurting each other, despite the advice of all of their friends and family. They’re tied together by the red string of fate and it’s going to strangle them but they’ll be happy bc they’re not alone
