ezra sees himself in jupiter in a way that jupiter is his past self, a well recognized and celebrated member of the wundrous society. he obviously envies the feeling of being loved by nevermoorians, but jupiter is also a reminder to him that if he would have stayed in the society, they would also abuse his knack for their advantage.

jupiter sees himself in ezra in a way that ezra is what he could become if he had lost the support of the society and the league. if he would lost the hotel’s staff and all of his society siblings. he obviously condemns ezra’s actions, but can’t think about how free felt after he had left the society.

they are each other’s foil, i can’t not think about them in this way

Something I love love love about silverborn is how insane it made me feel. So right off the bat we start with a group of random kids, I wanna guess unit 920? And then I don’t think we hear from them ever again. We have the miscommunications between mog and Jupiter, the whole “my mother named me Morrigan Odelle Crow, call me by that” thing and then by the end “you can call me Mog” and then thefehedhshdh they hugged they HUGGEDDDD. and the “love you Mog” “love you too uncle Jove” aajdhsjdhsjdjwjdj and how it wasn’t forced to be a sort of father and adopted daughter thing. How they can still be close as chosen family but as uncle and adopted niece and I’m a sucker for that. I personally don’t have a great relationship with my dad’s siblings’ side of the family, so this was definitely a bit of comfort for me. I also loved Jack and Morrigan confiding in each other about their heavy things, like how they did in previous books.

Adding on to this, the brilliant foreshadowing in the first chapter about a young dragon rider dying. The only young dragon rider who we knew of at the time was Hawthorne, so that’s what we think initially, only for it to become increasingly obvious that it is not Hawthorne who dies, but the other dragon rider who was the fiancée of one of darlings (can’t think of names to save my life)

ik people who've read the above alr know, but just to be clear, this has silverborn spoilers. Please do not read this unless you're fine with spoilers from the fourth book of the nevermoor series, Silverborn.

And, er, could be entirely wrong, and so I apologise for this, but isn't there a moment where a member of Unit 920 comes up to Mog bout Margot coming to see her at WunSoc? Perhaps this is showing how Unit 920, just like the rest of WunSoc and the Republic, are practically under the illusion from the Elders and the Wintersea Party, how that girl from Unit 920 is led by the Darlings to disturb Mog at WunSoc, how the boys at the beginning are clueless of C&D.

And yes, I do believe the clueless kids at the beginning were Unit 920, and it kinda showed how this book is almost of the opposite of the first, where we see the newest unit from the eyes of WunSoc (e.g. Cadence reprimanding the boys from Unit 920).

If we ever get a Hollowpox movie I need the scene with Frank swinging from the blackbird chandelier to be adapted verbatim. That scene is genuinely one of the funniest in the whole series.
