I'm back and I'm better
hey, I've never worn any type of twists or braids (besides cornrows) but I'm going on a service trip to Brooklyn in a couple weeks so I need a protective style to protect against all the work and heat I'll be dealing with. I've decided to get box braids, but my only question is what would you recommend my night routine be?
Im so sorry. Omg I now this is probably really late but the info is still useful for the future.
I like to put all of my hair up into a bun and tie a satin scarf around edges that way the part of the twists or braids that contain your hair is protected and the ends are as well. this will keep it from getting fuzzy so quickly
Two years and almost 3 months natural even with the mini chops and neglect during my pregnancy my hair has gown so much. I big chopped down to barely anything and my hair is almost back to where is was when I had a relaxer. #minitwists #protectivestyles #naturalhair #growth #lengthcheck #healthyhair
Life is good.
In the process of putting my hair into mini twists. I need something with low maintenance and manipulation. My hair grew like wild fire while I was pregnant. Just 25 weeks ago they barely hung from my head.
Only 2 1/2 more months left in my pregnancy and I'm getting sluggish so I decided to put in some mini Havana twists. I have a lot on my plate so my hair has to be put on the back burner. I part my hair the day before then sit in front of my tv and install my twist in the dark. Lol I still moisturize every day with Organic Argon oil of Morocco weightless healing spray.
Ninja bun. Its too much to wear it all down. I cant. #ninjabun #naturalhairjourney #naturalisbeautiful #naturalhaircare #naturalhairgrowth #naturalhairstyles #naturalhairinspiration #naturalhair #blowout
They say pregnancy does wonders for your hair….
Well I guess that’s something that depends on the person/ doesn’t apply to everyone. My hair hasn’t gotten thicker, grew extremely, or look and feel any better than it always has.
My nurse at my OBGYN said that its because I’m having a girl and she’s taking all of it from me. (country superstition and mythology)
I’m going to just blame it on my first thought. Everything doesn’t apply to everyone.
Heyyyyyy! Congratulations!
And I’ve heard the opposite about pregnancy, lol, and when mymom was pregnant with my youngest brother her edges pretty much fell out (though they grew back fine) so in that case no change is good change.
But yeah, there’s a probably a scientific reason behind it (hormone levels or something) too lazy to google it.
But again, congrats!
Thank you so much. I'm hoping I don't lose to much.

WHILE EVERYONE ELSE IS HOPPING ON THE HAIRFINITY TRAIN….
I have never been a big believer in hair growth vitamins so I researched natural ways to promote hair growth.
After many failed attempts at gimmicky solutions like “GROW 1 INCH IN 7 DAYS”, “BIOTIN FOR FAST HAIR GROWTH”, ” THICKER LONGER HAIR OVER NIGHT” and the ever popular Hairfinity I chose to go another route.
Hair grows at its own pace and therenisnt much you can do to speed up growth but there are a few things you can do to promote healthier, stronger, thicker hair.
In my journey I found that Tea Tree oil is a wonderful way to stimulate your scalp and blood flow to promote hair growth.
Tea Tree oil can be used to remedy things like:
◆dandruff ◆hair growth ◆acne ◆ingrown hair ◆bug bites
Along with Tea Tree oil Shea Moisture’s Thickening Growth Milk has made a world of difference in my length retention.
I have thick hair that grows at a great pace but I find that the Tea Tree oil and thickening growth milk keep my hair healthy and strong enough for it to continue to grow.
As always I am a firm believer that you schould find products that work well with your hair. If you think that tea tree oil is domething youre interested in then you should try it!
Your Afro is making me jealous and I’m not ashamed. I’m in love with you and all that you are. Girl. Yes.
Lmbo oh my goodness you have me blushing. Thank you so much 😙😆😊 you're a sweetheart! Stay beautiful Queen.
Brew out my hair today for the first time in about 3 months. My hair is so prone to heat damage that I only blew it out about 70% I can not deal with have to cut off anymore hair right now. But I'm excited because I am able to see the snap of my hair and partial length. I have been natural for 1 year and almost 6 months. I big chopped in February of last year and I mini chopped in November. I trim my hair every 2 to 3 months. #naturalisbeautiful #blowout #naturalhair #heathyhairjourney #healthyhaircare #shenaturally #blackboldandnatural #teamhealthyhair #teamnatural #prettycurls #irockmynaturalhair #itnaturalhair
My two strand twist out result of freshly washed hair VS My flat twist out results on stretched hair last week. I like pompadour styles idk why its a habit I'm trying to break. SN: I didn't use a filter or anything I photographed these in natural like. This is the first clear sunny day in Beaufort in like two weeks #naturalisbeautiful #naturalhairjourney #heathyhairjourney #naturalhair #twistout #flattwistout #hairfaceoff #twistoutchallenge #prettycurls #naturalhaircare #naturalhairrocks #naturalhairinspiration #naturalhairdoescare
Caring for my mini twists I care for my hair the same way no matter the style. -oil -leave-in -water -spray bottle Those are the only things I with ever need to care for my hair. Outside of that; the things I use for cleaning and maintenance: -hair scissors -natural clarifier -conditioner
6 Month Weaveless Protective Styling
After careful consideration and convincing, I have decided to try protective styling with out weave extensions. For those that don't know I have a skin condition known as psoriasis which cause your skin to be dry, irritated, peal, and blister. I have been able to control it very well but this past year it has seems to have gotten out of control. I noticed I was having more frequent outbreaks and after thinking and discussing it with my mother we concluded that it may be the weave. Before going natural I had braids 3 times over the course of 10 years. With protective styling constantly and wearing weave more frequently my skin took a turn. My coconut butter lotion has been a huge help but I am going to try weaveless protective styling for 6 months to see if there is a difference.
