idk what batman villain needs to hear this but your theme IS unique and creative, your puns and gimmicks ARE witty, your costume IS cool and fashionable and you DO have a chance of defeating the batman. you are a valued and important gotham citizen <3
im very grateful for the lessons in photography i was taught in stop motion class because just now they made it possible to photograph the stars with my phone in spite of the camera usually not detecting the light of stars because theyre so dim,,,, enjoy these shiny motherfuckers
ok so if everythings normal, your phone camera should have a manual mode (sometimes called pro mode). in it, change the settings of the shutter lag to 20 seconds, then put the phone down on some stable, plane surface and press the photo button (usually when using your camera, the volume buttons can be used as photo button) and let the phone still for the whole 20 seconds.Â
(basically the problem with most cameras is that they dont have a very good light sensitivity in the dark, however that doesnt mean they cant detect it at all. the longer the shutter is open, the more light your camera takes in and the more burnt/light your pic will be, so in (literally) dark situations, make the shutter lag longer to get all that light you need! also i said 20 seconds but really you can make it shorter or longer depending on what kinda stuff you want for your stars)
Yes this!
Additionally, adjust your ISO to the highest number (mimics the film used for very low light and low speed images)
And set your shutter speed to the longest time possible (on my phone itâs 10 seconds).
Leave your focus settings on Auto, and if your phone camera has a timer option, turn that on (five seconds is generally enough).
Plan your shot first, then find a place to set your phone down so you can get the image you want. The less light pollution, the better; youâll pick up FAR more stars in your picture.
Once you know what you want to shoot, tap your screen to âfocusâ it, then hit the button to take the picture, set your phone down, and back away from the âtripodâ. Donât touch your phone for a good 15 seconds, just to be sure.
You will not be disappointed in the results, let me assure you.
Not even a little bit.

THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING IâVE EVER LEARNED
U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg spent her entire life fighting for justice for women, people of color, the LGBTQIA+ community, those with disabilities, and those who suffered religious persecution. Her lifeâs work was dedicated to helping those who need it most.Â
There are many people on Tumblr expressing their grief, fear, sadness, anger, and pain tonight as we all process her death. Feel whatever you need to feel right now. Let it out. It is healthy. Reach out for a little help if you need it. Thatâs healthy, too.Â
And then, when youâre ready, consider making a plan to honor the woman who fought for all of us with civic action. If you have spare time, consider using it to phone bank or text bank for an official who could use the volunteers. If you have spare cash, find a legal aid or bail fund to assist someone who needs it more. If you have the opportunity to help out anyone, seize it. If youâre eligible to vote, please vote. People like RBG are why you have the right to do so.Â
someone explain the jewish holidays to me like i'm 5 years old
Purim: They tried to kill us, we survived. Letâs tell the story, wear silly costumes, and get wasted. (Optional: have a carnival or a play!)
Passover: They enslaved us, God freed us. Remember this via a big ceremony/feast and then donât eat bread for a week. This is a big one; youâre going to have to clean your house and host all your relatives.
Tu B'Shevat: Itâs Earth Day, letâs eat some fruit.
Simchas Torah: We read the entire Torah every year, and we got to the end! Letâs have a dance party and then start all over again!
Tisha B'Av: They destroyed our temples. That sucked.
Rosh HaShanah: Happy New Year! Itâs time to ask (and grant) forgiveness for the wrongs done in the past year, pledge to do better, and wish for a sweet new year. And go to synagogue for HOURS.
Yom Kippur: Rosh HaShanahâs somber counterpart. God decides on this day your fate for the next year. Repent your sins, hope for forgiveness, and fast. (And go to synagogue for HOURS.)
Yom HaShoah: Holocaust Remembrance Day.
Sukkot: Harvest festival! Sleep in a hut under the stars.
Shemini Atzeret: Man, I donât even know?
Shavuot: God gave us the Torah! That was pretty nice of him.
Chanukah: They busted up our temple and tried to forcibly convert us. We responded with guerilla warfare. Letâs eat some fried food. Candles!
So basically the entire Jewish holiday calendar is giving the middle finger to death and high-fiving, with or without various combinations of prayer and foods.
Yup. Or as we say, âThey tried to kill us, we survived, letâs eat.â

Cudjo Lewis, the last surviving captive of the last slave ship to bring Africans to the U.S.Â
https://www.history.com/news/zora-neale-hurston-barracoon-slave-clotilda-survivor?utm_campaign=Echobox&utm_medium=Social&utm_source=Twitter#link_time=1525373347
Itâs so significant too that this narrative was collected by Zora Neale Hurston, one of the greatest authors and anthropologists of her time. She was shunned by the âgatekeepersâ of both of these professions, largely because of her Blackness, her womanhood, and her uncompromising commitment to honoring and showcasing both in her works. She died penniless and alone in a state-run institution in 1960. All of her works had gone out of publication by then. It took more than a decade before she was rediscovered. A young author by the name of Alice Walker had come across her work and was deeply inspired by it. âIn 1973, after an exhaustive search, Walker came across Hurstonâs unmarked grave in Ft. Pierce, Fla. She purchased a headstone for Hurstonâs tomb and had it inscribed âA Genius of the South.ââ
It is through Zora Neale Hurstonâs pioneering sacrifice, and the acceptance of that inheritance by Alice Walker that we have found this missing piece of our history. Without the courageous and unfailing work of Black women, we wouldnât have Cudjo Lewisâs story. We are slowly regaining a narrative thatâs been hidden from us, one that continues to be lied about. Trust Black women to lead the way.
