she is the moment ✨️
they released supergirl 2026 in summer so when you get heat exhaustion after watching it in this 33°C weather you will have the full immersive experience of lying there half conscious and ill and unable to move for hours just like supergirl on the planet barenton when she got green radiation poisoning😍
As much as I understand why people dislike that plot point (can't say I'm a fan of it myself) ignoring something that important wouldn't be a good idea, it would simply create a plot hole which would result in lack of consistency. Like, MCU gets criticised for not acknowledging important events, so why should DCU do that? I feel like acting like it never happened would be weird in the universe, especially when it comes to characters connected to it.
supergirl wasn't bad it just conveys the message that girls don't have to react to trauma by being perfect and trying to please everyone around them and you guys just hate that
your turn
Woman of Tomorrow: Supercorp Headcanons
Starring: Milly Alcock!Supergirl x Margaret Qualley!Lena Luthor
First of all, I don’t think there would be any conflict over Lena finding out who Supergirl is. For the simple reason that Milly!Supergirl doesn’t have a double identity. She is both Kara and Supergirl, and everyone knows it. I do think Kara would hide the fact that she has some kind of relationship with Clark Kent and Lois Lane just to protect them (especially Lois), but beyond that, she wouldn’t hide it.
At first, Kara and Lena would have a sort of rivalry and tension because they're supposed to be on different sides, but they'd both be very curious about each other and would end up becoming friends just to annoy Lex and Clark because they think it's fun.
The first reason they would connect is because they feel they are constantly living in the shadow of Lex and Superman’s legacy and that they have an obligation to carry on that legacy. But neither of them wants to do so. Kara is a champion of justice but isn’t a pacifist like Clark, and Lena doesn’t want to be a villain like her brother. That’s why they would quickly understand and empathize with each other. They would be a safe haven for each other and could finally be with someone who has no expectations of them.
Another reason Kara and Lena would become obsessed with each other is that they feel extremely lonely despite having families. They don't believe there's anyone who truly understands them until they meet each other.
I think that as they get to know each other better, they'll become obsessed with each other to a toxic degree.
They'd match each others freaks. Like, they'd be total troublemakers just for the fun of it and to do whatever they wanted. I can see Lena throwing the wildest parties just to get Kara's attention and spend more time with her. Likewise, I can see Kara teaching Lena about other planets and races (except Krypton, because that's a sensitive topic—at least early in their relationship)—because she knows Lena is a genius who loves to learn.
Kara would bring Lena gifts from other planets just to impress her. And Lena would invent all kinds of high-tech gadgets that could help keep Kara and Krypto safe when they're on other planets.
I think Lena would be the only one capable of taming Krypto, for the simple reason that the dog would adore her.
Kara would start to be more careful about the fights she gets into on other planets and would begin to visit Earth frequently.
Lena would try to find ways to help Kara stop drinking.
Kara would patrol the city whenever Lena has a public event because she knows Lena has many enemies simply because she's a Luthor.
Their first kiss would definitely be after a fight.

Clark: Whatcha got there?
Kara, fresh with a new alien daughter: A smoothie
Random thought but that one moment in Supergirl when Clark is like "oh also, your powers are gonna start kicking in right about... Now" and then it cuts to Kara in her apartment with the city noises blaring around, and then she cuts it out with music, I can't be the only one who thought that subtle little inclusion implied culture shock right? Kara grew up on the Argo, then lost everything while she was a teenager and had to come to Earth. The immigrant parallels are obvious to anybody with a pair of eyes but that inclusion of the cacophony of Earth, a planet she's an alien on, so much more of an alien then Clark, like did anyone else see that as a way to communicate culture shock to the audience?
Something key to the idea of Supergirl is that she was made for little girls to see as a role model. Yes, there are other factors to her original creation (money), but she was meant to be someone for girls to look up to (so they’d buy comics). She’s a symbol of hope and strength, and I hope this theming continues to be talked about for years to come. Supergirl is arguably the second most significant female character in comics ever (Wonder Woman takes first place for that).
The character of Supergirl is constantly evolving, but it’s amazing to see people talking about her so much right now.
i love Millie Alcock’s Kara. she’s messy, she’s an alcoholic, she’s rude, she doesn’t have a love interest, she beats the shit out of pedophiles and dismantles their sex trafficking ring in the process. she carries the grief of an entire planet because she doesn’t think Clark, whose heart is so optimistic and so desperate to see goodness in people, can handle it. she gets her hands dirty so that a child doesn’t have to live with the guilt of murder. she’s not ditzy, or just some sexy hero girl for misogynists to objectify and drool over. she’s strong, she’s smart, she’s confident, and she’s good
She swings both ways <3
I just love how Supergirl isn't really about the revenge or the dog or anything that goes on at all. Its about two grieving girls trying to keep going in diffrent ways and teaching each other how to survive with the weight of it all while also inspiring each other to be better people. Its about not letting your past overtake your future. Its about prioritizing yourself instead of being fuled by your trauma. Its about being good no matter what.
i really really loved how the supergirl 2026 movie subverted the 'if you kill them ur no better then them' trope, i loved that the conflict was not that he doesnt deserve to die but rather that ruthye deserves to not have to kill him, that she is just a child and should not have to carry that burden along with everything she had already been through. i really loved how kara killing him recontextulizes her actions leading up to that moment, how it becomes clear that it was never her intention to let him live, but to keep ruthye safely away from the fight.
ive always disliked the anti revenge narrative because sometime people do just do things that are unforgivable and wont be stopped by the current system, but here kara never said ruthye should forgive him, but rather that ruthye deserved to live on and it is made far more impactfull by the fact that it is in the same fight where kara accepts the suit and truly becomes supergirl. superman is the shield, supergirl is the sword, supergirl fights so girls like ruthye dont have to.
supergirl trailer was so hype I HAD to redraw one of my favorite panels from the Woman of Tomorrow comic !! ⭐️✨☀️
superman 2025: have hope despite it all
supergirl 2026: be good despite it all
Interesting that Zor-El was aware of his brother's plan for Kal but didn't approve. I can't imagine how that conversation went.
Jor-El: Ok, the planet is going to explode.
Zor-El: Uh huh.
Jor-El: So I'm going to send my son to another planet to save him.
Zor-El: With you so far.
Jor-El: And the yellow sun will give him great power to conquer the world so he can take a harem of wives to repopulate the Kryptonian species.
Zor-El: And you lost me.
Just watched supergirl and oh my god i am so obssed with the fact that we have a female main character and shes sloppy and snippy and rude and an alcoholic and messy and flawed. And yet shes still able to be kind and good and be an inspiration to people. All while not having a romance and while not trying to appeal to anyone. This is what everything should be.
