In reality, we have much more to worry about than our own delusional selves. Much more to worry about than the bet. For example, Teresa. She doesn’t remember a thing and has only been awake for two days but she sits in the Medjack hut all day, staring into space like a crazy woman and not doing anything. She’s like a shell of a person. Wiped clean.
Yet here we are, focusing more on a stupid bet than a girl rotting away under our noses.
“What’s on your mind, love?” Newt asks, his arms around me from behind, holding my back against his chest. The warm water sprays from the shower head with little pressure, running down Newt’s muscled back.
“Nothing important.” I say quietly and step forward more into the water, scrubbing it over my face and trying to wash the dirt away from taking up a little more work in the Gardens yesterday. He’s back at slaving away on the codes again. It was nice to have one bit of relaxation the other day, nice to feel like a normal teenage girl for one time in life. Yet that’s not who we are, we aren’t normal and I think I’m finally at peace with that sentiment.
I turn to leave, reaching for my towel on the wooden stool outside the stall. He grabs my wrist just as it passes him, startling me to look up at him.
“What?” I ask him in confusion, releasing the towel from my grip and backing up back into the shower.
“I want you to stay.” He whispers softly and leans his head back against the wall, so clearly exhausted as he fully knows that after this he will return to the Map Room to work. He knows I have to leave, Minho, Thomas, and I are all going to investigate the dead griever from the night they all got stuck out there. He offered to stay back and work on codes.
I smile softly and press a kiss to his shoulder, then turning again to grab my towel and leave.
“I’ll see you at dinner, Newt.”
Once I’m dressed and packed up for the day, I make one stop before going to the north doors. I have time. Nikki has let me in the Medjack hut in early mornings to check Teresa lately. She’s been making some improvements, not much though. She still has no memory of me. Only a small memory of Thomas and she says she wants to see him, yet he doesn’t want to see her. He’s afraid of her.
“How’s she today?” I ask Nikki and help out as she’s restocking the cabinet for the day. More and more boys have shown up either stung or hurt here. We only have a few tubes of grief serum left and we don’t want to waste it, the grief serum is hidden under the bandages
“I don’t even know her anymore. She’s a different person, ever since she woke up she has been completely different. As you clearly know. In terms of health, she’s getting better. Since the incident had a clear affect on her she’s been a little weak since the wake up but she seems to be improving now.” She says and looks away from me, not wanting to continue about the girl.
Her feelings on her must not be great then, if she seems this cold about it. Maybe Teresa was different in other people’s eyes, maybe the way others perceive her is skewed. Towards the incident, Teresa and Minho hadn’t been talking as much and to be honest, I hadn’t spoken to her as much either. Why had we outgrown our friendship? Why did it have to fade out while it had a chance? Before this.
“Hey Teresa.” I say softly as I sit in the chair next to her bed.
Her hair falls down the middle of her back as she faces the wall opposite to me, all that’s in my view is her dirty glade clothes and midnight silk hair in front of me.
Something I never told the boys and even Nikki, who is now nearing in as a closer friend of mine, is that Teresa can speak to me telepathically as well as Thomas. It’s something that scares me quite deeply. Why us three? It’s only the three of us so why us? What’s so different about us? That’s what I’m afraid of. I’m also afraid that they’d think I’m crazy for not telling them all right off the bat.
How’ve you been? I ask her.
Stop it.
I slump deeper into the chair momentarily, impatient with the person she’s now become. She was different. Before Thomas arrived she was funny and happy, at least as happy as you could be in this dull place. She brought a certain happiness to things, now she fulfills that might potential by staring at a wall all day long.
I asked you a question. Please don’t do this today.
I don’t know you! Get out of my head!
I do as she says. “I’m still here, Teresa. Please, don’t shut me out.”
It’s the only thing I know how to do. “I think you should go.” I hear Nikki’s voice softly speak from behind me and I turn to her.
Looking up into her eyes I see sympathy but maybe even sadness, maybe even nostalgia.
“Me too.” I hear a small sniffle from the bed, Teresa whispers the words.
Maybe I should. The door slams on my way out.
“You guys ready?” I ask with a simple grin and earn a few nods in response as I come running up to the Maze doors.
The bet ended last week, when Newt, Nikki, and I came up with a plan to destroy it once for all. Gally. All of us knew that there was nothing both of the boys hated more than the annoying kid. We told him to annoy Thomas and quite frankly, why would he turn that down? Then as he started aggravating him, it was only a matter of time until Minho stepped in to shut that shank up since he’s always protective of the boy against Gally.
“Yeah, lets go.” Min speaks up as the doors start to groan and squeak as they drag across the concrete floor of the maze.
The night they all got stuck in there, of course I didn’t expect them back. It was wild and it almost had a sense of anarchy to it. Our leaders had both been stranded, sentenced to death and we may not have wanted to face it but we all realized something at the very same time. We would have to elect a leader or somebody would just have to take the role on without question.
I don’t believe it was an easy thought to process, maybe for a guy like Gally who has always hated Newt and Minho, sometimes Alby. But for others? It was losing guidance, losing order. It was exactly what Newt always feared would happen.
“We’re almost there. Just a few more lefts up here then the walls should be to our right.” Minho yells from a few feet ahead of me and points as we turn the corner.
Running is a nice feeling of escape, if I’m on a normal run of the job I can just spread my arms out and feel like I’m flying. Sometimes it feels like I am.
“Here!” I hear Thomas exclaims and we all come to a halt at the still squished griever pancake.
The sight of it makes me sick. What I’m assuming are its guts are splattered on the floor with his mechanical legs twisting every which way.
“Who wants to do the honors?” I ask, glancing back and forth between the griever and my friends. Minho stays silent, not to ignore it but to just look at it.
“Ladies first.” Thomas says and nearly gags at the smell. I just chuckle and shake my head.
“He’s kidding, we’re all helping.” Minho says and punches his arm.
“Minho. You lost the bet, you have to stop-”
“Actually I had to stop kicking you.”
“Boys. I don’t think now is the time.”
After a few seconds of silence they nod in agreement and approach the dead griever, wedged in between the walls.
“What exactly are we looking for?” Minho asks us both and I don’t think either of us know the answer.
“Just anything that could help us. Nobody has even been able to just look at a Griever and make it out without a scratch but here we have one!” Thomas says, flinging his arms out in front of him for emphasis.
Minho walks up tot he closed walls and reaches in, cringing at the sound of the oozing as his fingers touch it’s slime slathered skin.
“Ew.” I mutter to myself and go to walk up in front of it when it’s leg lifts upwards, hitting me on the temple of my head.
“Oh shit!” Thomas rushes over to me and helps me off the ground.
I look up into his eyes and find comfort, holding him close as I am helped up. He and I have gotten very close it is almost like a brother and sister kind of thing.
“Thomas. If that thing is alive you’re dead because you said you killed it! Are you sure it’s really dead?” I turn to Minho and ask, letting go of Thomas.
“I saw it get crushed myself. Let’s get the leg off and then continue.”
After a good ten minutes of pulling and pulling and pulling, we’re all sent flying backwards to the ground as it’s metal leg finally becomes unhinged from its body.
Minho stands while brushing himself off first and having seen something fall when he fell to the ground as well. He picks up the organ of the griever, taking in a deep breath before putting his hand into it to grab the device that’s lodged in there.
“What is that?” I ask and walk up next to him, he hands me the cylindrical device that’s covered in the insides of the monster.
“I have no idea…” He says in confusion and turns it over in my hands, wiping off the gunk.
“Wait a second. It says seven on it. What section is this?” Thomas asks him, pointing to the blinking red number on the small square screen.
“Its section seven. At least the one we came from was…” Minho trails off, glancing at me with knowing eyes.
After a few more minutes of wishful talking about what this crazy thing could possibly be, we decide that we don’t have enough time left and run back to the Glade.
My mind has been run with all the possibilities. What could it be? I know we are missing something that has been right under our noses the whole time but what is it? What is this missing piece we haven't seen yet? I know Newt is close to decoding things but I think we should all be helping, it’s too much of a burden for one single person to handle.
The three of us cross the threshold back into the Glade only seconds before the doors lock against each other.
The moment my foot hits the green grass, I feel his arms close in on me and pull me into a warm embrace.
“You missed dinner.” He says into my hair as he peppers small kisses along my forehead/hairline.
Out of the corner of my eye I can see Gally and Courtney make the same disgusted face at the same time. Those two would be good friends, they both hate me.
“I’m sorry.” I mutter into his shirt but he smoothed back my hair, inspecting the bloodied cut on my head and the bruise surrounding it.
“What happened to your-” He begins to ask me with deep concern in his eyes when, to his dismay, he is interrupted.
“Newt. Call a gathering.” Thomas says and coughs out his lungs, trying to catch his breath after the tough sprint back from the edge of the Maze.
“Why?”
“We found something important.”
• • •
“Council gathering is in session now. Since Alby isn’t in good health to lead lately, I’m First in Command until further notice. Therefore I’m leading this one…Minho?” Newt says and turns to the Keeper, leaning back in his chair and locking eyes with him.
“Today we found something inside the dead Griever from the day we all got stuck in the Maze overnight and we think it has to do with controlling the grievers. Specifically where they go. It has a seven on it. For section seven. Have a look.” He says, his voice laced with nervousness and his hands subtly shaking as he passes it to Newt.
He looks it over, fumbling it around in his grip.
“I guess you’re right but how’d you figure that has to do with getting out.” Gally’s voice says from the corner of the room.
Newt groans in annoyance. “Did anybody ask you to speak? Slim it, Gally.”
“What do you want then?” He asks Minho, handing him back the device.
“I want to change the order in the Glade. Things are changing here and we need to prepare the others for it coming. We’re going to follow up to investigate this but, I think we need to prepare the Gladers for leaving.”
The color drains Gally’s face. Just as Newt opens his mouth to speak, Gally cuts in again.
“Nobody is leaving, Minho! Shut your mouth. You don’t know anything and the only reason your shuck brain is thinkin’ of this klunk is cause the Greenie is putting it in your head. He’s brainwashing you!” He exclaims passionately, stalking down the aisles of the seating to meet them both face to face. I see Newt’s glare intensify, Next to Minho who looks like he wants to punch him as well.
“Are you stupid or deaf?” Minho asks, the most serious look on his face as he does.
“You have a lot of nerve-”
“No, Captain Gally, you’ve got a lot of nerve interrupting the conversation when you weren’t asked. Your opinion will be asked when we vote and will only be received with a simple yes or no.” Newt steps in again to diffuse the impending situation with him, the anger in his eyes evident. He looks for my eyes in the Gladers immediately, finding my glance as fast as he can and I see him sigh in relief at the sight.
“It’s okay.” I mouth and he looks down, nodding to himself before talking again to Minho.
“Council members vote, yes or no. Preparing for the end plus investigation of Section Seven.” He says firmly and motions to the first and second row of Gladers, eyes meeting mine for a few seconds again.
Going down the line through most of the council members, the majority votes go yes. Making the verdict more than clear.
“No. But-” Gally says his vote and tries to elaborate.
“Gally, for the love of your own well being, I’d shut up before I stop holding Minho back if I were you because he’s ready to jump at you now.” Newt speaks again, his words stinging the boy like venom seeping through his teeth. He stands inbetween them.
“Now, most of us voted yes. So, The end of the Glade plan is into effect,” He says in a forced calm tone, “You’re free to go.”
“You’ll see. One day, Newt. I know you’ve always hated me, both of you but you should be banished for your embarrassing inability to lead this group.” The annoying boy responds to him one last time, pushing it further than before. Across a line. Before Newt can even sit up, he is gone.
I walk out of the room with him, Thomas, Nikki, and Minho. Newt’s hands are shaking.
“I hate that guy.” Thomas says to himself and shakes his head, his hands shoved in his pockets.
I glance at him, seeing a young guy who’s lost. Completely lost. Thomas has always had this way about him like he’s running from one post of his life to another one without stopping to dwell in one chapter and I feel as if it’s hurting him.
He’s a close friend of mine, from the early morning breakfast talks and late night hang outs with our friends. Thomas can shift his feelings and confide in me most of the time. As well as Newt. We’re two of the only people he trusts here so, when Gally comes yelling, not only does he look to Newt…he looks to me.
“I second that.” Nikki replies with her voice wavering slightly, the fight back in Council Hall having an affect on us all. Her fingers drum on the back of Minho’s hand.
“I think I’m close to cracking the codes. I’m seeing a pattern already.” Newt tells us, his eyes shifting up from the grass and back to us all.
The way he’s always gone in the early wake of the morning. It’s something that I’ve learned to cope with, fingers stretching out on to the bed seeking his warmth but finding a cold spot. It’s all for the sake of saving the Gladers and I will never hold his compassion against him. I refuse to turn cold and use his own kindness as a weapon to bring him down yet feel myself slip away when I wake to nothing but empty sheets. This is what leadership looks like though, some sacrifices must be made at a small cost. It’s something I’ve become used to now, that he’s always working.
Almost as if he sensed my thoughts making me tense, his arm slides around me and hand finds mine. He gently caresses the skin of the back of my hand which ultimately always relaxes me somehow. In our early relationship, Newt hadn’t ever known much physical contact until me nor did he know much comfort. All of his feelings, his thoughts that usually were in deep dejection, had always been pushed under the surface of his mind; struggling to break the mold and express.
Drowning. He was drowning in the darkness that the harsh reality of this prison had always brought him, so as he finally found some form of release or feeling. He felt as if he had been photo-degrading, being destroyed by the light in his life, by me. As he adjusted more and touched more minds with the beautiful parts of his own that he’d always had hidden, as he broke down his own mental barriers I suppose he learned more about me as a person as well as himself.
Simple things like this may not seem big to most people. It’s just a hand-hold for god sakes. Yet to him it’s a monumental change from what little he previously was subjected to since all he knew was pushing people away.
Newt learned that when he’s feels any anxiety he loves when I look him in the eyes, seeing me breathe and trying to match his own breathing to it to calm himself and slow it down for him. He knows that when I tense up that I appreciate small comfort. He knows I need it.
“Teresa’s been feeling better, but it’s still not one hundred percent solid, guys. Are you sure you want to do this?” Nikki asks us as she opens the door to the room, stopping before entering.
“Yes…At least I want to,” Thomas says with a supportive smile to my direction, knowing that I was closer with her before he showed up in the Glade.
She stays paused in her spot, sweeping the four of us for approval and getting a nod from every one.
“Alright,” Her voice comes slightly weaker on this time as the door creaks to the side and we all come in a few at a time.
Teresa sits in the bed, fresh clothes, freshly bathed, fresh everything. Her body turns at the sudden sounds of people entering and her electric blue eyes bounce back and forth on us five.
“It’ll be alright,” His voice almost echoes from how silent the room is and reaches a hand out for her if she wishes for comfort.
His kind eyes glance downward, his body then following as he sits on his knees with his hands folded down in his lap.
His voice doesn’t waver or stop itself he says the words with care and confidence, “Hi, Teresa. The name’s Newt. I want to Welcome you to the Glade.”
Her look of uncertainty subdues temporarily and she gives the faintest hint of a smile to the older boy, her eyes then moving up to me.
Hannah. *
I meet her gaze, perplexed and shocked at her making this first move in the correct direction.
I’m sorry about the other day, I was afraid.*
She breaks the stare, her smile still slightly present after she tells me the words.
I should be apologizing to you. I overwhelmed you.*
“I’m Teresa.” She says and still timidly looks at the rest of them. She still hasn’t seen anybody but Nikki and I.
They know that already don’t they?*
Yes, Newt can explain it to you if you’d like. We all could. You’re in a safe place at the moment. That I can promise. *
“Explain everything to me,” Her voice raises in a more confident way than before at Newt and his eyes widen at the sudden change, “Please.”
Her glance shifts to me at the last word.
He’s our leader. He used to be Second In Command but our first leader got hurt. He can be trusted and I promise you, he won’t ever hurt you. He’s never hurt me ever.*
Thank you. What about the one who’s making googly eyes at me, the one with the short hair.*
“Erm, it’s a bit of a complicated story, Teresa. It’ll take a little while to tell. Are you. Sure?”
That’s one of our newer guys and he’s been here two months now. His name’s Thomas and just let me tell you before you ask, yes he does look at everyone that way. And, everybody in this room is to be trusted eventually. These are my friends.*
“I’m sure.” She responds in a casual manner, suppressing the urge to ask a million different questions.
“It all started with the box…”
• • •
Spending over three hours in an uncomfortable chair of the Medjack building was definitely not my ideal choice for the day, but I wouldn’t change anytime since it gave me a piece of the old Teresa back.
The Glade isn’t a safe place for human life I’ve decided, not that it is physically unsafe just that it traps you. Literally, you’re trapped. But beyond that, you’re mentally trapped in your own horrible state of mind. Most of the time, the sound of his voice calming me or the jokes my friends tell offer up a small form of escape but it can only be so temporary in itself. It only stays so long until the undeniable feelings of doubt and sadness wash them away.
“Okay. The new plan’s being put into effect today, so here’s what everybody is assigned to. It’s only a matter of time before getting out of here is life or death. Weekly supplies stopped coming up recently and Teresa said so herself, the end is coming. We just need to be ready. Newt, take it from here?” I say, speaking up to the crowd of the entire Glade.
They all look to me and I see mixed reactions. One part of the crowd is shaking in fear, while another is cheering, and another is angry.
“Thanks, love,” He says that first bit softer and throws me a glance before continuing on, “All you shanks know the deal, yes we’ve been here for two bloody years now so what makes this different? Well I didn’t think it was until Tommy explained himself. We do need to get out. Runners, all that’s left of you work on codes. Minho and Tommy will go out and investigate Section Seven. Trackhoes keep harvesting and keep planting or keeping up with the gardens, you guys are important and Fry needs all the food we’ve got.”
I smile softly as I feel Minho nudge my side, his face sharing the same grin.
“Whats got you so cheery, lover boy?” I ask and jut my head in Nikki'a direction.
He chuckles to himself and nods, his eyes falling to the grass. You never know what’s going on with those two and he doesn’t choose to talk about it often, even with Newt being mainly in charge now and him being the temporary new Second-In Command. He keeps her a secret.
“Builders, keep on, nothing to change really. Medjacks make sure your cabinets are stocked and be ready to help anybody, you never know what could happen. Slicers keep on…and that’s about it. Once we’re all ready and prepped we’ll vote on what’s next. You’re all free to leave for the day.” He says and disbands the group to their jobs for the day.
We talked about the plans until about one in the morning last night, we’re just keeping everybody but runner and decoders busy while we do our work with the Maze. We can’t have them worrying about patterns and griever now can we?
“I’ll see you guys when the doors close, make sure to be back as quickly as you can too since Section Seven is pretty out back there.” I say to Thomas and Minho, a smile on my face until I see Newt standing behind them ready to run.
All three of them sense me realizing what’s going on at the same time and take a fair step back.
“Newt, you shouldn’t go.” I tell him and push through the other two of the trio, quickly rolling my eyes at their attempts to distract me.
“Listen, I knew you’d say this but I’ll be fine. I can promise you that I’ll be back by dinner, for sure.” He says, his hands holding on to the nape of my neck as I hold him by his sides.
I chuckle softly to myself before responding, “Remember what happened the last time we said that?”
Newt then smiles down at me with his eyes almost glistening under the light he’s under and he pays no mind to if Gally or the others are watching as he places a soft kiss to the tip of my nose, not ever being one for public displays of affection typically. This takes me by surprise.
“I’ll be back.”
With those few words, his grip loosening off my shoulder and he turns to walk away. I feel my worries heighten ever step he takes out there, my eyes never leaving until I hear Teresa beckon me from the Map Room.
“Coming!” I yell over to her and turn my glance away from the Maze doors, away from the three most important boys who’re running out to possible demise.
When I reach her, she’s frantic about the codes and her hands are nearly shaking as the Map is handed to me.
“What’s going on?” I question and take the thin sheet of paper in my hands, waiting for her to point it out.
“There’s a clear pattern, Hannah. I’m not sure the significance but I know it’s a code of some kind.” She tells me, her expression gleaming in hope. I dread to tell her.
“Newt’s already seem that. We know it’s a pattern, a code just haven’t decoded it yet.” I saw softly and hand the paper back, slightly disappointed since I wished she’d made an advance rather than it being a dead end once again. She exhales forcefully and tucks a tendril of hair back behind her ear as she takes it back.
I find everyone of the Glade stressed out at the new conditions of this place lately. I’ve only known the Glade in high amounts of stress with small breaks for breath every so often but some of these guys once knew more peaceful times. Now they’re all wishing it would just go back, then half of us are going against them and wishing to get out before it’s too late. Gally wanted to stay, as anybody could have guessed. He got into a heated argument with Newt about it last night, came to his room to confront him.
*****FLASHBACK*****
“I need more of an explanation than just that if you want to-” My words to him are cut off my knocking and we both snap our necks around to see the door, a confused look on our faces. It’s the middle of the night and we’re deep in conversation. Nobody should even be awake at this hour, let alone knocking on the door.
Newt shakes his head and gets off the mattress, casually making his way to the other side of the room. Maybe it’s just Minho.
“Hello, Newt.”
Oh my god. I almost bring the sheets up to hide my face yet I know he’s already seen me sitting here. I cover myself with the sheets since I don’t sleep with pants on, not wanting Gally to see me like this. Especially since it’s Newt’s room.
“Mind if I come in to chat?” He asks him through his teeth and Newt steps aside to let him in. I make eye contact with my boyfriend, trying to subtly give him the biggest “what the shuck” look I can muster. He shrugs in return, shutting the door gently behind him.
“Hello, Hannah.” He says and looks down at me with a familiar anger in his eyes and his voice laced in subtle hostility.
“Hi.” I mutter and glare back to him.
“What did you want, Gally?” Newt walks in between him and me, his arms crossed.
“I wanted to try to convince you about Thomas. I think you’re making a big mistake by letting him back into the Maze and-”
Newt holds his hand up to stop him, the breath leaving his lungs in a forced and annoyed huff.
“I’ve told you the same thing a million times. Tommy’s been sorted with and he’s already received punishment for going out when he wasn’t a runner. There isn’t much else I can do about your hallucinations about the Greenie now can I?” He quickly starts to snap with only a few seconds in to the conversation. I cannot even fathom how Gally thought it was somehow appropriate to come out here in the middle of the night to argue with him. He’s insane!
“Could you give me a chance to give my point without shutting me down?”
Newt scoffs at him.
“I apologize. Sorry I’m being completely unjust, since this whole bloody Glade is made just to revolve around your feelings right? Your point has been heard before. Get out of my room, before I make you.” He nearly spits out the words, nudging him closer to the door at every few words.
“You’ll be sorry! You all will be! When I get back from the Maze you’ll pay, you’ll know when it is too late!” He raises his voice as Newt closes in on him.
Maze. I jump up from my slouched position on the bed to chase Gally out of the room beside Newt, maybe to stop him from what I think he’s trying to do.
“Gally, don’t go in there!” I scream at him as we sprint through the Deadheads, up the hill to the tree line. As the two of us come to a stop in our places at the horrid sight. He’s in the Maze.
*********
Nobody has seen Gally since that late late night yesterday and we sadly had to tell everybody. Some where sad and some were happy about him being gone (specifically Minho).
Personally, I hate the boy with my whole heart yet wouldn’t wish the horrors of the Maze on any single person other than the one who plopped us all in here. I hate to admit it yet the truth stands still as itself.
Everything changed when Thomas came in the box.
Thank you all so much for 700! We reached this goal together and I couldn't have done it without you. I've been going through some tough mental stuff but I'll be fine, and I've been trying to post as much I can. Enough about me, you guys are the ones that should have a party!!
An assignment for one of my classes at school. We had to create an animatic about a lost dog! It get’s kind of rough in the middle but overall I like how it turned out so I thought I would share~
Enjoy!!
Just a little chat(that no ones probably gonna read)
Don't you just hate it when someone you love just stomps right on your heart, and you just sit there and fake a smile, knowing you can't do shit about it? No? Oh...I guess it's just me then. No ones probably ever gonna see this or even think twice about reading it, but that's just how much this society is fucked up. I really do wish it would be so much better and more inviting and friendly. I'm not just writing this for the "attention". I'm really trying to express my feelings but no one ever lets me do that. So I'm doing it here, and NOW. I don't care if I get hate, because honestly that's all I get in the world now. It's not a surprise anymore...but anyway no one cares enough so I hope you all have a good day..
💅🏼💋
Salve!(hello in Latin)😊☀️
The Awesomeness of Hufflepuff
Person: I like Hufflepuffs! They're particularly good finders lol.
Me: ...
Person: I mean, they're just kind of average, aren't they? There's nothing really special about them. They don't really do anything.
Me: ...
Me: Cedric Diggory was selected by the Goblet of Fire as the most worthy student of Hogwarts. He then proceeded to win (tie) the Triwizard Tournament fair and square, despite a Death Eater rigging it for Harry to win and Fleur and Victor both getting assistance from their cheating headmasters. Not to mention how he defended Harry (his opponent) against injustice done by his own supporters.
Me: Nymphadora Tonks let her very hair stand in rebellion of the world's expectations. She overcame the intense prejudice of the world and married a werewolf. She also worked undercover at the Ministry of Magic for the Order, then fought and died in the Battle of Hogwarts, despite having every excuse to stay out and stay safe.
Me: Pamona Sprout--the hero of Hogwarts who saved every single Petrified student when the Chamber of Secrets was opened.
Me: Ernie Macmillan stood up to the murderous Heir of Slytherin (or so he thought) to defend his good friend Justin, then admitted his mistake and apologized to Harry when he realized he'd been wrong.
Me: Susan Bones lost her ENTIRE family to Death Eaters over the course of the two wizarding wars. Yet she still chose to fight in Dumbledore's Army rather than succumbing to fear.
Me: The Fat Friar was executed for saving as many people as he could from the pox and was known for his willingness to give second chances, even after his death.
Me: Helga Hufflepuff was the only founder willing to teach ALL students willing to learn because give it a break guys, they're 11 years old.
Me: Hufflepuffs are loyal and true and fair and STILL manage to kickass against the traitors and the liars and the cheats.
