((Hello folks! It’s been a goodness-long while since I’ve done anything over here, huh?

Well, about that. I’ve got some good and bad news! The bad is that this blog is now an archive. I will no longer be writing Q here.

The good news is, that should anyone be so inclined, I’m giving the world of multi-muse RP blogs a shot! And guess what characters whose blogs have been archived are going to be over there?

I’ll probably start fresh with threads unless anyone requests I continue theirs.

Anyway... Thanks for your patience and-... Following-ness? Writing-partner...y...thing? Either way this blog was fun and thank you all for helping it be that way!))

OOC PSA

((School has been quite busy. I owe so many replies across so many blogs.

In short, I've got too much on my plate and it's making me short-circuit. Incapable of getting really anything done.

Q and Gromit are going onto (semi-)hiatus for a little while.

I feel awfully guilty about doing this... After all, I love these characters! (And I owe so many things to so many people oh god...) But I've got a total of five active blogs right now, and it's more than I can currently handle. Currently, these guys are my least active/present muses.

So though I'm sure I'll be back and threading eventually (again, have I mentioned my love for these characters and the people I've got threads with?), I'm just gonna step back for a couple of weeks and just let my stress levels go down a bit.

I probably didn't need to write this long-winded thing but I like to write long-winded things and overexplain and apologize, so there.

I'll still be online, mainly over on my blogs for Doc Brown, Wheatley, and Agatha Heterodyne (What? A pattern? Never!). I might still be on here to answer asks, though, when I can.))

Hello there! Thanks for the follow back. Anyhow... You had a question about the links on my blog, yes?

If you meant how to title them, truth be told they came with the theme I have. Pity the only LCARS theme is a box theme... They're so hard to read. I know you can customize your "Ask" and "Submit" links within your blog settings.

If it was a question of how to add them? (Seeing as how your Ask and Submit aren't open yet) Same place in Settings. The dropdown menu on the far right where you can log out, gear icon, and it's one of the options in the menu opened under the "blogs" section. They should just automatically show up on your blog once you turn them on.

Q breathed a sigh of relief, giving the captain an almost noxious smile. “Thank you…” He said, inclining his head slightly towards her.

Now that his future was a little more secure, however, could he start nitpicking about it.

"Can I have better clothes than I had on the Enterprise?" He asked. "They were the most awful color grey and green… And itchy… And cut most unflatteringly.”

Janeway had already begun to walk. Q took a couple bounding steps to catch up, and continue citing his terms. “I’m not done! Sickbay… Does that mean I’m going to have to put up with that miserable hologram? Am I going to have to have an examination? I don’t want to be poked or prodded or injected with anything, or whatever it is you do with your primitive medicine… Are you going to enforce rules like 'don't eat this' or ‘don’t do that’, or 'wear protective clothing in such and such kind of atmospheres'? I’ll have you know that protective suits absolutely ruin the nuances of a sunset on a planet with mercury air.”

She nodded a bit awkwardly in response. Q’s genuine thanks was not something she was used to. Maybe he would be more cooperative and reasonable than she’d thought.

Or maybe not.

No sooner had she started to walk than Q began his demands. He wanted better clothes than he’d had the last time he was human, he didn’t want to be examined in sickbay, he didn’t want to follow the rules… She tried to ignore him, looking heavenward again, or perhaps toward the Q Continuum, as if to ask “Why me?”

However, Q was persistent, insistent, and she quickly found herself spinning around to face him.

"Let me impress something upon you, Q, as it seems you’ve managed to forget in the space of less than thirty seconds. You need my help. You asked for it…One might even say you begged for it. And I told you I would help you. That does not mean I’m your personal attendant. You will follow the same rules as the rest of the crew. And you will submit to whatever medical testing the Doctor deems necessary. As for clothing, you can request what you want—not a uniform—but whatever else you might want from the replicator. But keep in mind, you’ll be using rations just like everyone else. So if you’re needlessly extravagant, be prepared to be eating Neelix’s meals for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.” She leaned slightly forward and lowered her voice as if confiding a secret. “Here’s a tip, that’s not something I would advise for someone with a brand new human digestive system.”

Q had been about to begin on the subject of his quarters, when suddenly the captain whirled around to interrupt him.

He nodded and hummed a little as she talked, deliberately looking anywhere but her face. It was true. He was in the position of needed help.

But that didn't mean he couldn't have a few ground rules. He had a certain quality of life to live up to. Which was to say, usually, his way, all the time. Asking for help in the first place was a fair enough compromise on his part, was it not?

He leaned backwards slightly as she leaned in, but tipped his ear forwards to hear the advice on Neelix's cooking.

Q coughed. Usually a gesture of pure aesthetic, now slightly threw him off. "Aher-ahem..." He choked, rubbing his throat with an indignant look on his face, before glancing back over towards Janeway.

"There's no need to get worked up, Captain." He said, defensively. "I haven't forgotten I'm still the one with the most to lose, here, and I've already lost a lot." He rolled his eyes. "I'll play by whatever little rules that I absolutely must follow."

With a small amount of testing the seriousness of them, of course.

"It wasn't a very specific question..." He purred. "Were you referring to my name? My race? My occupation? Or was it a more generally philosophical sort of thing, the meaning of life and who we are in it?" He shrugged and gave a sort of twirling hand gesture.
