sebastian hated Recupero. it hadn’t taken long – only the few hours he had been there – for him to form his opinion. even though he had only been given a lousy tour and met with some dr. wynn, he was exhausted. he really disliked everything the facility stood for- no, what it pretends to stand for. sebastian had finally escaped the watchful eye of a nurse (who he could only assumed was assigned to babysit him on his first day), and all he wanted to do was light up. he knew he wasn’t supposed to be smoking, but he would be damned if he had to experience all of this without the occasional cigarette. he was making his way through the lobby when he noticed a girl. “hey!” he winced at the loudness of his voice. looking behind him and then glancing at the lobby exit, he cleared his throat. “hey, sorry, um do you… do you work here?”
the brunette had made herself at home on one of the couches in the lobby. with a blanket from one of the baskets sitting around, she had curled up with her book and managed to get a few chapters in before she even saw a single person pass through the area. still, even then, she had only seen two people and none of them had bothered even looking in her direction. but that streak came to an end when she heard a voice loudly break through the eery silence. grimacing a bit at the loudness of his voice, she glanced up and took in the boy standing in front of her. his question echoed slightly off the walls of the room and she smiled softly as she sat up. “unfortunately, i do not. i’m just imprisoned here.”
