โย ๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐๐ : PRINCE NICOLรS .
โย Honestly, the whole firstborn, birthright, itโs all very archaic bullshit. I am glad Liroux will have a worthy queen when the time comes.ย โ
Welcome, welcome. You are tuning in to the Riot Boysโ podcast, this week we have polished the finest china and rolled out the red carpet, and itโs all โcause we have someone really special, and really cool among us. You probably already know โcause it says right there on the episode titleโฆ still, let me introduce... drum roll, please ! Prince Nicolรกs of Liroux ! First things first, are we meant to call you your royal highness or whatโs the deal here?
NICOLรS: LAUGHS. Oh, no. Please, donโt! Just call me Nicolรกs please, or Nic, thatโs fine as well. Hello everyone on the internet.
Alright, alright, Nicolรกs, itโs so cool to have you. Youโve been all over the news โcause you just got admitted to a very prestigious law program in Northridge University in Scotland. How are we feeling?
NICOLรS: Itโs very cool. Believe it or not, I understand how this is a huge opportunity and I am very honored to have been accepted. I must admit I didnโt really think I was going to get it but now I am supposed to pack my bags in a few weeks. CHUCKLES.
Here with the boys, we always believed in you. It was really no surprise to see you get it.ย
NICOLรS: Thanks, man. I appreciate that, I really do.
Now, I did my research before you arrived and I know you will be under the tutelage of a certain Professor Griswold, the menโs got a pretty impressive CV. And to make things spicier for his students, one of them will score a spot at his law firm at the end of the semester. Is that right? Do you think you can get it?
NICOLรS: Oh oh oh, you came prepared, mate. LAUGHS. Itโs all true. I was equally excited and surprised when I got his letter inviting me to be part of his class. I donโt know him that well personally but I know enough to know heโs a one of a kind and as clichรฉ as it sounds, I am ready to learn a lot from him.ย
Donโt try to dodge that bullet, Mr. Nicolรกs Bouiette. But what about the competition?
NICOLรS: LAUGHS. I know I can win it. If I decide to put on the effort that is. You see, my biggest weakness is that Iโm not usually the most organized or dedicated student but at the same timeโฆ I have the wit and I can be very astute, so Iโd say my strengths lay not so much in the textbooks but in the delivery, being in a courtroom or getting my hands down and dirty on a case. So in that senseโฆ I donโt know. Iโd say itโs pretty rigged.
Well, weโll be rooting for you. Now, leaving Lawyer Nicolรกs Bouiette aside. Letโs talk about growing up a prince. I canโt imagine what that must be like. Was it fun? Was it hell? Was it like in the movies? What can you share?
NICOLรS: It was definitely not as fun as they make it out to be on the Princessโ Diaries. It was mostly a lot of boarding schools and this thing my dad calls โking trainingโ, which is basically learning about etiquette and a bunch of other stuff that royals need to know and do, no matter if youโre going to rule or not. Theyโd hate me for saying it but itโs a bunch of really boring stuff. Wouldnโt recommend it.
Word. As I said, canโt imagine, mate. But in that sense, I am also curious, what does a prince do to keep himself entertained? What are some of your hobbies?
NICOLรS: Wellโฆ I feel like everyone knows how I keep myself entertained just by looking at the tabloids. LAUGHS. But thereโs no reason to give Lirouxโs PR office anymore headachesโฆ Letโs seeโฆ Do you follow me on letterboxd already?! Not a lot of people know this but I am a film buff. I keep up with award season and everything. LAUGHS. But I also enjoy going to museums and reading novels and poems. Iโm just very interested in the arts in general.
And what about your sister, Princess Cรฉline? She is next in line to the throne, what are your thoughts on that?
NICOLรS: What can I say? I love Cรฉline, she is my little sister. The whole world may see her as the Princess of Liroux, the future queen, and sheโs all that, she really is, but sheโs also my little sister and Iโm always going to be her annoying yet protecting brother. Iโm sure she is going to do a great job.
Mate, thank you so much for being so cool about it. Not gonna lie, I was a bit scared to ask you about her, since I know it might be sort of a touchy subject.
NICOLรS: Not at all. Honestly, the whole firstborn, birthright, itโs all very archaic bullshit. I am glad Liroux will have a worthy queen when the time comes. Thatโs half lie, half truth.
Dude, you really are cool. Wow. Anyways, okay, moving onโฆ We are almost done with our little chat. And thereโs two questions that we always ask our guestsโฆ The first one isโฆ Where do you see yourself in 5 years?
NICOLรS: Oh. We are getting deep here. I just see myself doing things that matter to me. I have a very strong set of beliefs, a strong sense of justice among other things that are important to me and that I will always stand for. Thatโs why going into the law program in Northridge is so important to me and why I would love going to Griswoldโs law firm, itโs a means to an end, to do my bit into making the world a better place. That and the ego boost, of course.
Now, before we goโฆ What would you say to your younger self if you had him in front of you?
NICOLรS: EXHALES. Itโs okay to be scared, you are allowed to feel all the feels youโre feeling. You are valid.
I do not miss childhood, but I miss the way I took pleasure in small things, even as greater things crumbled. I could not control the world I was in, could not walk away from things or people or moments that hurt, but I took joy in the things that made me happy.
