Back to Black || Mini and Nick
Mini had been back in Bristol for little under a week now, but only today had she finally reconciled with Nick, an old friend of hers. If she could call him a friend. That was one thing they’d never really been, friends. Before Roundview, they’d been strangers, during, they’d dated, and after they broke up, they were just… people who knew each other. Mini had grown up and had finally let go of that 2 year old grudge, sure he’d give her something else to want to smack him for soon enough. They’d agreed to go out for drinks, which Mini couldn’t have been more ready for, it’d been too long since she’d gone out with someone she actually could talk to for more than 10 minutes without wanting to request a gun and a bullet. Her mother and Eric were sitting in the living room, having come over to babysit on Mini’s call. It was nice having them around, back in London, she’d spent so much money on babysitters that it was a surprise she had enough to get a bus home.
When she heard the knock, she picked up the ginger haired child and hoisted her up onto her shoulder. As of now, Nick would be the only one of her friends to have seen Grace since Mini left for London. Opening the door, she flashed him a smile. “Looking flash, there.” She teased, before taking a toy from the little girl, a toy she’d gotten bored with, and tossing it over into a basket nearby. “Nick, this is Grace. And Gracie, this is big ol’ Uncle Nick.” She introduced, watching a grin grow on her tiny face.
When the door opened, a smile appeared on Nick's face almost automatically. She'd been holding her child, and Nick was right, Gracie was absolutely beautiful. He watched as the young girl smiled back, and a small, involuntary chuckle escaped his lips. "She's gorgeous, a lot like you," he said, smiling. It was strange how much things had changed between Mini and Nick, they were both very different now than they were while they were a couple. They'd both learned a lot and he wondered what that would do for their friendship. "Who else has seen her since college?" He asked this carefully, mostly wanting to know if Alo had come back even once to see his child. He looked up at Mini, a smile still on his face and waited for her to finish replying before asking if she was ready to go.
He walked over to the car, and turned it on. The music he'd forgotten to turn off blasted throughout the enclosed space and he tried to turn it off as quickly as possible. I'm not looking for a love that will last, I know what I need and I need it fast. "Shit, sorry..." He felt the blood burning throughout his cheeks as the color red tinted his face. "It was on the radio..." He added, though he wouldn't admit it, this song was also on his iPhone, he'd have to remind himself to take it off sometime soon. "I'm not sure if you've... eaten yet, but this place sells food too, I'll buy." He said, and sent a smile her way, hoping she'd forget about the song that had just come on.
But there’s where you’re wrong. She’s made it quite obvious that she wants something to do with me.
Yeah? Well last time I checked, a year changes a lot. She's gotten over you, mate.
The boxes are finally mostly unpacked.
We’re…we’re Franky and Nick. Is there any other way to explain it?
So are we... together?
Because, I'd like that.
Oh, but it does.
She’ll always be my girl, Levan. So, why don’t you go play hopscotch with your brother and let the big boy play his own game?
What business are you referring to?
She wants nothing to do you, Luke.
Back to Black || Mini and Nick
Though they'd only talked for a few minutes, Mini and Nick had already made plans to get drinks. Whether this was a date or not, he wasn't sure, but he was sure she'd understand the feelings he still had for Franky. He got his stuff together and made his way out the door and to the truck he'd recently acquired. Soon enough, he was on the road and the music in his car began playing loudly. After a few minutes of driving around, he found her place and got out of the car, making his way to the door. He knocked twice and put his hands in his pockets while he waited.
He wondered what she'd be doing with her baby, the one she'd named after a friend of theirs, one who'd passed away about two years before. He shuddered at the memory, all of the problems Luke had caused... He pulled his phone out of his pocket to check the time, they'd never agreed on a certain time, but he'd said soon, so he got there about fifteen minutes later. Before he could stop himself, he was back to thinking about Grace Creevey, and whether or not he'd get the chance to meet her tonight. He'd only seen her once before, and it was before he'd gone to Ireland, he knew the young child must have grown a lot in the year he and Mini had been apart, she would look so different. She would have to be beautiful considering she'd come from Mini, and she knew that the girl's mother would be very proud, Nick would too if he had a child.

Excellent.
Its a date, yeah?
Yeah.
What is this Franky? What are we, I mean?
Had some unfinished business to get back to.
As long as it doesn't involve Franks.
Or anyone else I know.
We already knew that though, didn’t we?
What the fuck are you doing here?
The boxes are finally mostly unpacked.
And I need a drink.
Anyone free?
I'm definitely in need of a drink, too.
I hope you’re right about that, Nick.
Yeah, so do I.
84 Aben Crescent.
Yes, it is.
Things'll be different this time, you'll see.
Shit all.
Oh yeah? Well, congrats on becoming her puppy dog all over again. I’m happy for you.
Wonderful, I'll pick you up soon.
Though, I'll need your address.
It's not like that, Mins.
You’re on.
You think you can change her mind? This is Franky we’re talking about.
Great, what are you doing later tonight?
I think I already did. We kissed the other day.
Whatever you say, Nick.
I thought she kicked you to the curb.
Maybe we could go to some... Irish pub sometime, I'll prove it to you.
She did...
I’m not really a big fan of leprechauns and shit beer, but I’m glad you had a good time.
Oh, that’s a bit pathetic really. Don’t you think?
Shit beer? That shit was ace, Mins.
Probably.
Ireland? Sounds like a good time.
Still pining over Franks, then?
It was pretty fucking great.
She's... the reason I came back.
