Strange Places, Strange Faces || Chai & Nicole
"…Probably? But I figured why not look around while I’m here?" He grinned and gave a little shrug. "I don’t have anything to do back home right now." He laughed. He wasn’t even sure where the closest bus stop was, he’d just sorta been dumped outside of this place and wandered in. The idea of food generally caught the panda’s attention.
"I don’t believe I have. Why don’t you show me though? You can be my tour guide, show me your favorite parts of the store." He already planned on it, but he intended to buy her some of the candy. For no real reason. She seemed like a good kid. Why not, right?
Nicole looked at him and frowned in thought. "My mom says that I'm not supposed to wander off. I'll ask her!" and she bounded to a woman about twenty feet away. "Mommy-" her mother held up a finger, as she was deep in conversation (or rather, argument) with a boy of about fifteen. Nicole waited for a moment, then tried to interrupt again. The woman turned to her, obviously frazzled. "Nicole, please don't interrupt. I'm talking to your brother."Â
She waited for a moment more, feeling a little less happy than before. Mommy always seemed to be arguing with people lately. She turned back to her new friend and shrugged, then walked towards him with a little less spring in her step than before. "Mom says she's busy." she said. "But I'd like to show you anyway. C'mon!" she smiled again, happy as usual.
She held out a hand.
