Park Hu-min ( Baku ) x fem.reader ( I'm using the name Yu-na for the reader because it's weird to me spell Y/N. So you can read Yu-na as Y/N! )
Warnings: intimidation, canon-typical violence, attempt to reveal a secret
Their meeting wasn't supposed to be like this.
They were meant to be strangers, because life didn't want their paths to intertwine; they went to different schools, had different interests, and had different histories. They had their own lives, but it burst like a soap bubble.
And it all came crashing down when the past interfered with their daily lives.
A light spring breeze caressed her cheek, mingling with the scent of tobacco and dried blood. Tears streamed down and dried on her face. With trembling hands, she tried to shake off the arm Geum Seong-je had thrown over her shoulder.
There was no one else in the school courtyard.
"Yeo-dongsaeng, don't be afraid, I won't hurt you..." He leaned even closer to her, their breaths almost touching. "As long as you cooperate with me."
She sniffled, and he ignored her, wiping her flushed face with the sleeve of his student jacket. Suddenly, he tugged at her hair with his other hand, tilting her head back, which caused her to hyperventilate even more.
"Your stepbrother — Yeon Si-eun — has become friends with Baku." He rested his head on her shoulder. "Yu-na, don't let me down and spy on them, every step they take."
How could he be so precise? A gangster at such a young age, he would terrify anyone who crossed him and the gang he belonged to. Before you could even realize something was wrong, he was standing behind you, laughing like a clown. It was so terrifying that a few students were even changing schools. She swallowed hard and nodded several times. She felt like ice in the sun; melted.
"Good girl, but I think you know what the consequences will be if you don't do what I ask."
"Y-yes, I know." he'll tell everyone my secret, she repeated to herself, the statement he made to her before attacking her. The words swirled in her memory, as if she were savoring them, knowing she'd lose her memory.
He showed his teeth in a smile that looked like the fangs of a wolf, and was insatiable towards his victim – Little Red Riding Hood. He let go of her and patted her head before walking away confidently, disappearing into the dark alley of the building of school.
Finally, the paralyzing fear left her body, leaving her with a blank mind. Why was her past marked by cruelty? She curled up, sobbing bitter tears.
The silence of the walk home was deafening, yet awkward as someone walked with her and didn't answer any questions or encourage conversation. On the other hand, she was happy because her thoughts were screaming at her about what she had to do. She didn't want to hurt anyone, especially Si-eun. She knew how difficult it was for her brother to communicate, and his new friends truly meant everything to him like Su-ho. Due to an incident, he was evicted from his school, but fortunately, thanks to his mother, the matter was swept under the rug. If it weren't for that, Si-eun would probably be in juvenile detention, but he probably doesn't care where he ends up.
Si-eun walked stiffly, barely moving his arms when walking. The psychiatrist said it was a sign of depression. Yu-na and their mother decided to take care of him, even though he stubbornly refused to ask for help. Every stoic, but also the most ordinary person, has the right to weaknesses, because we learn from them, not everyone is a hero.
Suddenly, before turning onto the right-hand side of the street leading to their house, he headed straight into the city. The girl frowned and grimaced, suggesting he was probably going to meet some friends. She gripped her phone tightly, ready to obey before texting Geum Seong-je.
He will probably meet up with friends
She clicked the 'send message' icon, then stared at the home screen, waiting for who knows what. A bang. A crimson bruise appeared on her forehead, and her body fell limply backward. She looked up, noticing the pole she'd hit with her head. She stood up and brushed the dust from her skirt. She massaged her temple, trying to soothe the unimaginable pain that was more on her mind than the mission itself.
"If you walk around for so long without looking around, I think you'll be a dead example for caution on TV." Without looking back, he stopped to let her catch up with him.
"Oppa, you can't go alone, mom told me to accompany you!" She ran ( limping ) up to him, clasping his hand, and they walked slowly towards the city.
He noticed something was off about her; since childhood, he'd seen her dimples when she smiled. Now it seemed deceived, more deceitful, like a quince disguised as an apple. His intuition told him that something had happened, but he thought that maybe today was a bad day. But after their parents divorced, they practically never visited each other. Their relationship was mimimal.
Si-eun's comical outfit sent Yu-na into fits of laughter, and she had to take a picture of it. Of course, she wasn't mocking him, just laughing at how innocent he looked. He almost reluctantly left the dressing room, but Yu-na dragged him, explaining about his costume.
"Si-eun, smile! You would look good in the photo." she start to strike up a conversation, stamping her foot to make the little boy laugh. And also to make a makeshift effort to capture their smiles in the photo. She glares at him when he doesn't do what she expects. She sighs and snaps a photo.
She looks at the photo and gives it a thumbs up, saying it's not blurry. She hands the phone back to the boy's mother, so the miss thanking her.
The three-person group then took the stage, with the fourth taking photos so they didn't need Yu-na. This time, they joined to Si-eun — Jun-tae and Go-tak — in modeling.
She left the stage, taking her steps and observing the exhibition surroundings. Everything around her was themed around Korean folklore. Although it was rather shoddily done (especially the selection of students for imitating historical figures), it was still fun. Next door was a restaurant perfect for lovers of food. The autumn colors had a melancholic effect that increased her desire to sleep. She covered her mouth as she yawned, until she finally turned her back to the voices, or rather, the voice that was seducing other girls.
"Well I think I found my precious treasure..." He flirted with them with his charm and charisma, making his eyes look like a pet dog, which made him look cute as hell. And in his hand he holds an artificial flower "It's you!"
The girls probably giggled at the nonsense he was spouting, turning their heads away, startled by this filter-joke. They quickly walked away as if they were about to rain. Yu-na watched this scene with a sense of euphoria, as she enjoyed reading romance novels. She also became moved when others in her class talked about relationships and fooled around, as if life hadn't stopped for them, but it had for her. Sometimes she empathized with her classmates, imagining someone adoring her and tries to win her favor.
He waved to his friends, but she didn't care, as suddenly the world reconnected for a moment. He noticed her staring at him like a log and he winked to her. She immediately started sweating profusely and started rubbing the back of her neck as if it were an anti-stressful toy as he approached her. But after a while, awareness flooded her as she realized that she was probably doing it for money, so that employers would see that she was working and promoting the stock market.
"Welcome to the world of Korean science and history." He pointed to the entire halo with a non-verbal message. "Do you know why love and relationships were often the subject of songs and stories that told of love, longing and goodbyes... or maybe you want to experience it?"
Suddenly her world turned upside down again, just like her eyes, which she rolled when he managed to hit her sweet spot, just like some teenagers her age who dream of pure love.
She opened her mouth, rolling her tongue, and was about to speak when suddenly Go-tak hit a sheet of origami paper into the teenager's hat.
"Don't hit on people younger than you, and also not Si-eun's sister, Baku" Her heart stopped, and her hands trembled slightly as her vision worsened to a certain point. She didn't notice how Baku reacted, but he turned it into some kind of joke. Was she talking to Geum Seong-je's target? She had to get his location and that would all be over and not only leave Baku, but also apologize to him, right?
"He has a 99 IQ, dumb as a brick" this time he addressed her personally
"If he has low intelligence, he definitely has high emotional intelligence." She laughed softly, as if she were made of paper and a light breeze was about to carry her away to the other side of the room.
Everyone froze with the interlocutors, especially Baku, whose golden heart melted even more with the hot – her. Go-tak just frowned as soon as he saw Si-eun looking at Baku as if he were about to kill him and Jun-tae unaware of the situation.
Baku fiddles with her fingers until she slightly breaks off the stem of an artificial flower. He brushes her bangs away from her forehead and places a pink sakura-shaped flower above her ear. He tangles it in her hair. The girl can't take it anymore and cracks under the pressure of being so close that her dark eyes glow in the darkness. Could their hearts be about to rip out and fall into each other's throats?
"Sieun, are you feeling okay?" The bespectacled boy changed the subject, feeling the stoic energy radiating even more from the new student Eunjang.
A/n Sorry I haven't been posting, but I've had a busy schedule. Besides, I'm not happy with this draft, but I promise the second chapter will be polished.
